The New Lands of Izril refers to the expansion of Izril's landmass. Formerly part of the ocean floor, the New Lands were raised and integrated into the continent through the combined efforts of the ghosts of Archmage Kishkeria, Chieftain Seru’nial, the [[Oldest Gnoll Shaman|oldest Gnoll [Shaman]]], and the coven of the greatest [Witches] in history. == Overview == The newest landmass to Innworld, the New Lands of Izril are one of the symbols of the new era of the Journey of the Living. For many people, the New Lands holds new opportunities in the form of new colonies to establish, untapped resources, and unclaimed treasure. As such, multiple nations and kingdoms across the world have sent fleets and expeditions to claim a part of the New Lands. == Background == The most recent Meeting of the Tribes had several earth-shattering revelations, consisting of the discovery of a conspiracy to suppress Gnollish arcane magic between several Walled Cities and a Gnoll tribe, and the truth of white Gnolls. This all came to a head in a battle at the Great Plains, with a civil war between the Gnoll tribes while armies from Manus, Fissival, and Zeres attacked the Meeting of Tribes, with forces from Oteslia, Salazsar, Chandrar, and a Terandrian crusade allying with the Gnolls. At the same time, there was a Seamwalker invasion in lands of the dead. Khelt activated a ritual allowing ghosts to possess corpses and access their classes and Skills in the land of the living. Among the ghosts summoned were three of the greatest Gnolls in history: the oldest [Shaman], the [Archmage of the Eternal Grasslands] Kishkeria, and the [Chieftain of the Skies] Seru'nial. Bitter at the treachery of the Drakes, the misdeeds of the Gnoll tribes, and the constant conflict between the two species, all three Gnolls pooled their magic. Backed by the power of the greatest [Witches] in history, the oldest [Shaman] split Izril between Izril's southwestern coastline across the Great Plains, Seru'nial raised the ocean floor to fill the gap, and Kishkeria grew grass and plants across the newly risen land. == Geography == The size of a third of Izril's original mass, the New Lands were essentially wedged into southwest Izril, doubling or tripling the Great Plains in size. While most of the land consists of former coastal regions, some people have theorized that some parts are sunken lands containing unearthed dungeons with Kishkeria claiming that the new lands contained the "ruins of the sixth continent". The New Lands are elevated higher than the rest of Izril, resulting in a wall along the border between old and new Izril. Pisces Jealnet theorized that the split involved moving both northern and southern parts of Izril away from the divide, while a Blighted Kingdom [Strategist] suggested that the raising of the New Lands consisted of rolling the seafloor under the continent upwards. The air in the New Lands is mana-negative, draining non-artifact quality items faster and preventing [Mages] from naturally replenishing their full mana capacity. The New Lands are reflected in the Crossroads of Izril. It has purple grass and described to be "unnaturally flat." === Flora === All of the plants in the New Lands were magically grown by Kishkeria. The grass is yellowish-green, similar to the Eternal Grasslands in Chandrar, while the soil is paler than usual. As a result from millennia under the ocean, the ground is enriched with salt and other minerals at least fifty feet underground, preventing the implantation and growth of non-native plants. ==== List of Plants ==== * Fimie-seeds ** Blue seed tufts * Grass ** Yellowish-green * Thyme === Fauna === While the New Lands contains native Izrilian species such as Corusdeer, there are some former aquatic species that were magically altered for life on the surface land. There are forests of tree-like coral, modified by magic to effectively fulfill the same role. ====List of Animals ==== *Bushpigs **Bony pig-like animal that grows "bone branches" as camoflauge *Coral Trees *Corusdeer *Creona Flashbirds *Featherball **Rotund birds that resemble puffball of feathers *Fish (Multiple species) *Flicker-light bugs *Lamprey Shuffler *Landsharks **Sharks with two legs * Landshrimps * Sword Crabs *Tubeworms *Watersquirrels ==Locations== ===Cities=== *Inserelad'reanum *Nombernaught == Trivia== *Several people have remarked how closely the New Lands resembles a butt, including Ksmvr and Mars. * While the New Lands were first revealed in Chapter 8.85, their first official appearance was in Chapter 10.02 Y *The raising of the New Lands permanently altered the ocean's currents, erased Igawiz's Jet and collapsed Kraken's Pass. ==References== <references />
