The concept of the Order of Solstice arose from a series of misunderstandings. However, it ended up becoming established for real by [[Erin Solstice]]. Typically, Knight-Orders in Izril and Terandria required at least a hundred [Knights] and a grandmaster. However, Erin bypassed that requirement via ''Virtue Familaris,'' claiming association with a number of [Knights] of Chandrar. Thus, she declared the Order of Solstice a crusade-chapter, enabling the Order's founding with only five members.{{ref|9.07}} The Order originally consisted of two members, [[Rabbiteater]] and Normen Callesn. During the attack on the Goblinlands led by [[Xitegen Terland]] and [[Arcsinger’s Bows]], several adventurers and civilians came to the Goblins' defense. These individuals would be recognized as members of the Order by Erin, thus formally establishing the Order of Solstice.<ref name=":1" />

The order commonly uses magical flames of emotion originating form Erin's [Like Fire, Memory] Skill. Despite that, the members can summon the flames on their own or keep them in lanterns and braziers. They've constructed a room that holds different flames in braziers where anyone is free to take a flame that calls to them, save for the black flame which is restricted. They also give out flames as cheap but impressive gifts.<ref name=":2">{{VERef|Halfseekers (Pt. 2) – Interlude}}</ref>

The order is attempting to use [[Eater Goats]] as war beasts, purchased from a village that tames them.<ref name=":2" />

While the Horns of Hammerad are traveling to [[Izril]] on the [[Sand at Sea]], Dame [[Thuile]] of the [[Order of the Hydra]] overhears [[Ceria Springwalker]] and [[Yvlon Byres]] talking about Erin Solstice, associating the name to Rabbiteater. As a joke, Ceria would claim that Yvlon was a [Knight] of the fictional Order of Solstice. In turn Thuile reports this false information on the existence of the Order of Solstice back to the [Grandmaster] of the [[Order of the Hydra]].<ref>[[Chapter 8.81]]</ref>

===Volume 9===
Ser [[Lotorghast]], Dame [[Thuile]], Ser [[Solton]] and a [[Order of Clairei Fields|Clairei Knight]] arrive in [[Liscor]] to inquire about the origins of [[Rabbiteater|Ser Solstice]]. Erin confirmed that the Order of Solstice exists, having created it right at that moment. Naming [[Brunkr]] a posthumous member of the Order of Solstice, Erin declares ''Intent Valoris'' to create the [Knight] order, which will be recognized when five [Knights] have joined. Erin then knights [[Normen Callesn|Normen]] in the [[Garden of Sanctuary]], inducting him into the Order of Solstice.{{ref|9.07}}

Normen struggled with judging worthy applicants to the order, as well as funding their equipment and mounts. Erin believed that any members should be strong enough as to not die, but that would create too high a standard to join the Order.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2023/04/09/9-41-pt-1/ Chapter 9.41 (Pt. 1)]</ref> He came to the opinion that members should be aware of their limitations, and not already have an occupation they are fond of and accomplish good things with. The first mission of the Order was to deliver food to struggling villages during a blizzard. When the [[Bloodfeast Raiders]] attacked the village of Salefenwool, Ser [[Normen]] went to the defense of the village.<ref name=":1">[https://wanderinginn.com/2023/04/30/9-41-pt-3/ Chapter 9.41 (Pt. 3)]</ref> While defending the Goblinlands in the [[Unseen Empire]] from [[Arcsinger’s Bows]], The Order of Solstice got recognized by recruiting ten Knights.<ref name=":1" />

During the [[Vampires|Vampire]] hunt in northern Izril, the Order saves a group of fleeing Vampires, letting them through the Erin's door while stopping the [Knights] of the Clairei Fields that chase them from following them. The Order of Solstice participated in the events of the Winter Solstice and the Night of Bloodtear.

}}The Order of Solstice investigates a tunnel in the mountain around the former location of Rheigeist. They fight Rock Elementals, but retreat without defeating them and discuss the inappropriate way people in Riverfarm talk to Durene about having sex with Laken.<ref name=":0">{{VERef|10.19 E}}</ref>

On the road back to Liscor the Order of Solstice ferried by [[Chaoisa]] picks up a young [[Vampires|vampire]] couple, [[Sevil]] and [[Lapsey]], and are subsequently questioned by some Vampire hunters from the Houses [[Byres Family|Byres]] and d'Artien, but can safely escort the Vampires to the [[The Wandering Inn]] without raising the suspicion of the hunters.<ref name=":0" /> 

The next day the couple checked out early and [[Durene Faerise|Durene]] wants to make sure they were save and checks for them in [[Pallass]]. Upon suspecting foul play when they hear the couple had been attacked by bandits and Sevil was killed they investigate and with the help of [[Nerul Gemscale|Nerul]] find Lapsey as a prisoner on the 5th floor. They are about to free her, when first a few prison guards and Pallass Watch and then army units try to stop them and they start to fight. When [[Grimalkin Duveig|Grimalkin]] arrives Norman uses his flame of honor to break Grimalkin's arm. With some help by Nerul, Ishkr, and [[Liska Silverfang|Liska]] and some sensible words from [[Esor Ventail|Esor]] into the ears of General [[Edellein Blackwing|Edellein]] they make it back to the Wandering Inn with Lapsey. Edellein intended to stop them shortly before going though the Portal [[Magical Door|Door,]] but was discouraged from doing so by the new Armored Antinium that have arrived from the Hive of the [[Armored Queen]] to join the Order.<ref>{{VERef|10.20 E}}</ref>

The Order then proceeds to accept the Antinium as well as some [[Gnolls]], [[Drakes]] and [[Humans]] and makes camp at the mouth of the High Passes pass that [[Magnolia Reinhart]] intends to built her pass wall door in. Somewhere around the camp at the pass they intend to built the more permanent stronghold for the growing order. Leaving the new additions at the camp, the Normen, Ama, Antherr, Durene, Vess and Jewel successfully escort a group of vampires including Lapsey through the pass.<ref>{{VERef|10.21 E}}</ref>
