== Military ==
The Military of Pallass consists of eight armies.<ref name=":1" /> Those known are:
* 1st Army, under command of [[Edellein Blackwing]].<ref name="7.03">[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/01/29/7-03/ Chapter 7.03]</ref> Always stationed in Pallass, made up of the best soldiers and rotates in promising candidates and veterans.<ref name=":1" />
* 2nd Army, under command of [[Shirka]].<ref name="4.16" /><ref name="7.02" /><ref name=":4">{{VERef|10.25 MG}}</ref> Fights in matters of foreign affairs and campaigns abroad,<ref name=":1" /> as well as intercity warfare.<ref name=":4" />
* 3rd Army, formerly under command of [[Shirka]], known as Blackwing's Gold.<ref name=":0">[[Interlude – Saliss the Adventurer|Interlude - Saliss the Adventurer]]</ref> Monster slayers.<ref name=":1" /> Mobile and quick-response specialty, but for non-difficult terrain.<ref name=":4" />
* 4th Army, formerly under command of [[Edellein Blackwing]],<ref name="7.01">[https://wanderinginn.com/2020/01/22/7-01/ Chapter 7.01]</ref><ref name="7.02" /> know as Pallass' Bandits. Specialized towards resource acquisition. Quick mobilization to secure and area and lay ambushes.<ref name=":1" />

* 4th Cavalry<ref name=":5.01" />
* 7th Armored Division, just 400 strong, but fast-moving<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/02/16/5-60/ Chapter 5.60]</ref>

Pallass' Generals have seniority based on their army position, with an assumed ranking based on levels.<ref name=":1" />

While Pallass doesn't have the flier corps of [[Oteslia]], they do still have a few hundred [Fliers] in their army, recruited from [[Oldblood Drakes]] and [[Garuda]].<ref name="6.32" /> 

Pallass is known for making greater use of potions in warfare, and have unique units of [Alchemical Infantrymen], who throw alchemical weapons and use interesting salves on their weapons,<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2021/08/24/8-39/ Chapter 8.39]</ref> and heavy alchemical support such as [Slingers] launching military potions.<ref name=":0" /> Being supplemented by [Alchemists], they comparatively don't field as many [Mages].<ref name=":4" />

The spies and covert agents of the city are called the Eyes of Pallass, and are considered the best at surveillance among the Walled Cities' spy groups.<ref name=":3">{{VERef|Saliss the Architect}}</ref>

Uniquely among the armies, the 2nd Army has three [Spearmasters], as well as a number of [Slayer] groups specialized against certain enemies.<ref name=":4" />

Pallass' City Watch maintains Watch Houses on each level except the ninth floor,<ref name="7.02" /> and there are at least as many Watch Captains as floors.<ref name="6.38" />

In the defense of Liscor against the joint attack by Reiss and Veltras, the part of the Pallass Army that helped manning the city walls, shed 28 times as much blood as did the 4th Division of Liscor, which was also present.<ref>[https://wanderinginn.com/2019/06/29/6-29/ Chapter 6.29]</ref>

Pallass acquired captured [[Raskghar|Raskghars]] and planned an experimental program to create a military unit from them, which may take years.<ref name=":1" />
