The People of Zair is a nomad group of Centaurs based in Chandrar. == Overview and Culture == The People of Zair consist of Centaurs that live a nomad life by moving from place to place. They prefer to live in open plains areas of Jecrass, and have lived their for the last century or two. They are swift and love to race, and raised their own breed of horse, which are called Zair-bloodlines, who had a tendency to outrun most other breeds over the long term. The People of Zair fit Jecrass, arguably more than even the Humans. Centaurs, to race about the plains. They had always been a people unto themselves. Not reclusive, but separate. River Wardens donβt like them, levelling all the common complaints at nomadic outsiders, such as thievery, banditry, and so on. While they love the land of Jecrass, they have never benefitted from its protection, and so have no loyalty to it. Should the kingdom falls, they would not fall with it, and if they can not trade with the new ruler of the land, then they will simple move to another land, even if they have to fight to do so. === Leadership === In the past the leadership was establish by those born into the line of succession related to the current [Herdleader] of the time. If someone else tried to take the leadership, they will be accused by the traditionalist of usurping their way, which may cause a civil war. Geraeri for instance became the Herdmistress by winning such a civil war. It is unknown if after Geraeri's leadership, if her line will inherit leadership, or if a new leader will be chosen. == Background == During the time of a terrible winter era, in King Meriden's regime, the People of Zair were poor, their [Herdleader] had died from a plague that ran through the herd, and the People of Zair were infighting. It got to the point where the River Wardens fought them, and the crown debated expelling them from the land, as they were no asset to the kingdom. At that time Geraeri rallied her herd, kept them alive, and then began to trade again. She negotiated an end to the fighting, and unified the herds around hers. When she had reached Level 30, and was still younger in years, the [Herdmaster] of the People of Zair decided that Geraeri was trying to usurp their way and declared a civil war. A war that she won. From then on Geraeri would lead them through time and hard work for the next 30+ years, and under her, the People of Zair had turned in decades from a nomadic tribe that could be accused of banditry and thievery and certainly was poor, into a power on its own level of riches and prosperity. And thanks to Geraeri rock soup Skill, they never suffer from hunger. == Chronology == TBA From Chapter 8.08 J == Military Strength == TBA From Chapter 8.08 J == Members == * Geraeri - Herdmistress *Trall == Trivia == * It is considered ironic, or maybe weird that the People of Zair raise their own breed of horse, the Zair-bloodlines, given that they were Centaurs, but then again, who better than a Centaur to care for four-legged animals like them? == References ==
