The Unitasis Network is a telepathic communication system used by the Antinium. == Overview == Created by the First Grand Queen, the Unitasis Network allows Antinium Queens to mentally coordinate over long distances, greatly enhancing their collective efficiency and unity, and also direct their Workers and Soldiers. The Queens are assisted in that task by Prognugators and Revalantors. The Antinium of Rhir also had Junior Queens to oversee the workforce. Via the Unitasis Network, Queens can directly command the Antinium workforce at a distance of about a hundred miles miles. Beyond that range, Prognugators are used to enforce the Queen's will. Within a Unitasis Network however, the True Antinium of Rhir could coordinate flawlessly over long distances. Queens could work together in small groups or by the hundreds and amplify their connection. This ability is what made the Antinium to become the dominant force in Rhir, and also why the Antinium armies in Izril can fight armies with levels and magic, despite being deficient in both. They have such control of it that they can isolate parts of the Unitasis Network, and purge specific words from their collective memory. The Unitasis Network is also used to save the souls of Antinium so they can be revived through the Rite of Anastases. While outside the Queens' range, Wrymvr the Deathless could "hold" the soul of another for later revival. Stranded in Izril, the few Antinium survivors of their escape from Rhir formed a similar bond during the First and Second Antinium Wars. However, they had to route the connections through their Prognugators, and at distance they lost focus and cohesion. The Free Hive of Izril has recently rediscovered the Unitasis Network, first through a Skill obtained by Bird, and later through Bird's leadership. == Trivia == * The word unitas is derived from Latin, meaning unity or oneness but also accord or uniformity. Note that Anastases and Centenium are also derived from Latin. * Klbkch and Xrn were unaware of the potential of gaining the Unitasis Network via a Skill, but when Bird gained the [Unitasis Network] Skill, it wasn't green, suggesting that another person had created it. They compared an Antinium having such a Skill as similarly redundent to a human having [I Breathe in Air]. * It was implied that Antinium can access the Unitasis Network through possession of the [Ant Farmer] class and the [Minor Telepathy (Ants)] Skill (see Crusader 51). However, it is later confirmed that Antinium born in Izril had suppressed their ability to access the Unitasis Network. == References == <references />
