A '''Watch Captain '''is the leader of a City's Watch, the armed militia who defend a city from attack. This position is an important role in Drake society. In any Drake city, a Watch Captain is second only to a [General] in their own city.<ref>{{chl|5.13}}</ref> This position also exists in human societies as well.

While some cities have a single Watch Captain, larger cities can support more. For example, the Walled City of [[Pallass]] has three Watch Captains.<ref name=":0">{{chl|5.02}}</ref> While Drake Watch Captains often sit on the Council of their respective cities, they secretly circumvent their city council in the interest of maintaining peace.<ref name=":0" />
