== Overview ==
Yellats are a cheap food staple. They are hardy plants that can survive in poor soil, dry spells, and heat that would kill potatoes or other vegetables, and only need to be watered once a week.<ref name="Interlude-flos" /><ref>[[Interlude – Foody Discussions|Interlude - Foody Discussions]]</ref>  As such, they are a staple crop in many Chandarian nations. However, they do not fare well in humid climates.<ref>[[Interlude – Stories|Interlude - Stories]]</ref>Yellats will shed layers of skin and refine with time. ''Su-yellats'' are a magical variety that grows from a normal Yellat.
