Wistram Days[edit | edit source]

  • (To Ceria) “Well, Illphres is gone now, is she? Too bad. I’ll miss her for morning practice. She was always the best at making barriers.”
  • (To Ceria) “You know, she told me she was challenging the Golems tonight. She asked me to stop you from killing yourself if she failed.”
  • (To Ceria) “Perhaps she would have. But Cognita was too strong, wasn’t she? If I’d agreed to help, we probably would have died. Then again, maybe not. We’ll never know.”
  • (To Ceria) “Coward? I suppose that’s fair. But if I am a coward, it is for my King. Do not misunderstand me, half-Elf. I would go in that room and challenge the Golems alone if it were not for Flos, my liege.”
  • (To Ceria) “Because he is a king worth being a coward for. Because someday he will return. Make no mistake; someday I will be at his side and we shall challenge the Golems together. We will walk beyond those doors and see for ourselves the heights of magic. But until then I will do all I can to live until the day he calls for me.”
  • (To Ceria) “Until that day I wait. Hah, it is hard to wait for him for so long. But he is worth it. My lord Flos is…and it isn’t as if there aren’t other dangers to fight in that time.”

Volume 4 (Flashback Only)[edit | edit source]

  • (To Flos) “Oh very well. In that case, I shall do my best to kill as many soldiers tomorrow as I can—honorably, of course.”
  • (To Flos) “This is the first time in what, two years? The first time we’ve had four of the Seven together, not counting Orthenon and my liege.”

Volume 6[edit | edit source]

  • (To Viltach) “Never. I will swear no oath. Release me or kill me. If you had the courage, you’d have done one or the other long ago, Viltach.”
  • (To Feor, Viltach & Naili) “Tell me, Feor. Viltach. Naili. Does Cognita not still rule Wistram? Because you talk as if you do.”
  • (To Naili) “Naili. I will ally Reim with the Revivalists and give you Wistram if you set me free.”
  • (To Feor) “Go back and hide in your rooms from Cognita, Feor.”

Volume 7[edit | edit source]

  • (To Aaron) “I know. But what does Cognita want, hm? That’s the only question that matters.”
  • (To Aaron) “I could try. But even before I was a captive, no one ever called me ‘kind’. My lord said that I oft reminded him of a cactus that spat needles. Have you ever seen one?”
  • (Mouthed it to Aaron) “Will you set me free?
  • (To Aaron) “That fat buffoon? He has a kind heart. He’s like you.”
  • (To Aaron) “It might. And I might crack in half before he arrives. But I do not think so. Live or die—Flos Reimarch, my King of Reim is coming. I am a poor damsel in distress, boy. But I can wait. And do you know why?”
  • (To Aaron) “I take heart and cling to sanity in my cell because my king shares one trait with me. He is not a patient man.”

Volume 8[edit | edit source]

  • (To Troy) “Three Archmages. They tricked me into a meeting, and I didn’t have a chance. I was ready—not for that. Lightning, specialty, has nothing to do with why I lost. So there is your lesson. Love your magic. If you have to choose between what is efficient over what you want—follow your heart. No matter what they do to you, stay loyal to that.”
  • (To Troy) “Yes. Free me, and I will do what you want. Give you what you want. I will not forget this…what is it?
  • (To Viltach) “I’m a bit angry, Viltach. Now that I’ve greeted you, I can express that honestly.
  • (To everyone) “Food. Food. I haven’t eaten in…aside from snacks. Food. Food, and tell me. And show me. And…and food?
