Chapter 3.05 L is the 6th chapter of Volume 3.

Olesm brings the lone Lyonette ingredients and she makes bad pasta, which is enough to make Pawn leave some money for her, rekindling her hope.
Synopsis[edit | edit source]
Lyonette is alone in the Wandering Inn and recapitulates: Selys had taken Mrsha into her home. The day afterwards, a Goblin army passed Liscor. Two days later, she chased away Olesm when he checked the inn. Now, as she got no news about Erin and Ryoka staying in Celum, she is frozen from fear.
Six days after Erin left, and two days after having eaten the last bit to eat in the inn, Lyonette finally jumps Olesm as he routinely checks the inn. She recruits him to buy her ingredients so that she can open the inn again and serve good food - at least that is what she promises Olesm. After he brings her the ingredients, she tells him to come by two days later, however. But as she tries what she cooked, she realizes how bland her meals are. Relc and Klbkch appear, and later Halrac, but they all quickly turn away as they don't find Erin in the inn. When Olesm comes again, Lyonette presents him oversalted noodles and salted noodle water, but makes it "on the house" - at the least. But after briefly informing her about the dungeon, Erin staying in Celum and asking her in vain if she plays chess, he leaves Lyonette for an evening with Zevara, and for a real dinner. Lyonette cries alone in the empty inn, knowing she failed.
Pawn's day is the same as always: He gets up, gets food and gets to work. He causes a short traffic jam, but then arrives at the designated chess room, where sixty Antinium workers are playing chess. There he deliberates about the individuals that the hive has produced so far, and the few unique ones. And his class, [Acolyte], and the existence of God. After a whole day of pondering, he stands up in the evening and visits the Wandering Inn. He can't find the revelation he hoped for, but he eats the burnt and oversalted food Lyonette prepares for him, and leaves his spending money, which is enough for Lyonette to gather hope.
