Mel accompanies his father and other nobles impacted by Magnolia Reinhart's trade war to confront the lady at her home.[1] While there, he grows angry and slaps Magnolia across the face. Magnolia returns the slap with the skill [Insult to Injury] and sends the young lord flying. He is knocked unconscious and has to be carried as the lords flee the growing riot in Invrisil. Both Mel and his father are amongst the group rescued by Erin Solstice.[2]

Both Lord Ranga and Mel are part of Lord Tyrion's and Pellmia's hunting party when Ryoka Griffin embarks on her first true flight after the fae teach her to control the wind.[3]
