Seith

From The Wandering Inn Wiki

Seith is a magical substance found in Innworld.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Not much is known about seith. It requires extreme pressure to create.[1] There are several variation, including seithbone[2], seithore, and seith crystal. It was once used as a standardized unit of measurement to determine the intensity of spells.

While most known forms of seith have been lost, several have resurfaced in the present: Nerrhavia located a vase and a dress that had both been made with seith in Cormeng’s Grand Emporium of Antiques and Pawnshop,[3][4] while another sample was found among the recovered loot from Udatron's lab in the Ruins of Albez.[5]

Properties[edit | edit source]

Seith is a highly magical substance. Similar to Sage's Grass, it can generate magic but at a greater output. The magic emanating from a small piece of seith exceeded that of a Level 50+ [Mage].[5] Teriarch described seith crystal to be "magic incarnate,"[6] with pure magic being a poor substitute for it. It is a better efficient power source than ambient mana, with a sample being used to power two Tier 1 spells at the consumption rate of a Tier 4 spell.[7]

Seith is highly reactive to the point that a microscopic amount exposed to a non-reactive solution can leave a small burn.[7]

In its thread form it is impervious to acid and blunted scissors that were used to cut it.[8] It can be cut with Dragonblood crystal or a mithril razor.

Known Forms[edit | edit source]
