Wailer Frogs

From The Wandering Inn Wiki

Wailer Frogs are a large, monstrous type of frogs in the plains and marshes of Northern Izril, for example in the Himalt Swamplands.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Their appearance is fairly similar to normal frogs but scaled up. They have throat sacs that can expand, have bulbous eyes, and the frogs have the ability to open their mouths wide enough to engulf an adult human.[1]

Their youngs have teeth.[2]

Habits[edit | edit source]

Wailer frogs live in muddy environments and mark their territory with loud ribbiting.[2] They travel in packs and live in colonies. They move primarily by jumping. When an enemy flees from them, they tend to pursue their attackers over some distance and finish them off.

Powers / Abilities[edit | edit source]

Wailer Frogs are big enough to smash their enemies to the ground and even eat people whole. They also have a powerful leap, but are most feared for their wailing. The Frogs are able to emit sound loud and vibrant enough to render their attackers deaf, sick, or paralyzed. They're also capable of shattering glass with this sound, which is dangerous for adventurer equipment, especially glass-bottled potions.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Wailer frog tongues are the trophies required to collect Guild bounties.
