Auras are a projection of a person's authority, as well as their innate personality, beliefs, and willpower made manifest. == Users == Auras are primarily the Skills of [Ladies] and [Knights]. They are common among royalty and nobility, though higher-leveled individuals of any class can gain an Aura. Like magic or natural skills, it's possible for a Rulebreaker to gain an aura. == Usage == Auras are brought out by a person projecting their authority, and may be used subconsciously. It's possible for it to be as large as to cover an entire nation. Auras can be used to influence the actions of others, see the User in an inspiring image, or inflict terror and other emotions. The powers of an aura are informed by the user's class, with some auras being superior over others. To defeat an aura, the user must be forced into break their own rules. Rulebreakers are also able to resist auras. === Potency and Concentration === Potency is the strength of an aura, and increases with the user's level. For example, auras are said to not be the purview for [Strategists]; but Niers Astoragon, a Level 66 [Strategist] possesses an aura the size of a Giant, despite being untrained in aura manipulation. Potency is also influenced by the user's class. Monarchs have more naturally potent auras than [Lords] and [Ladies] by virtue of hierarchy. They are good at being forceful without training and have less need to hone their auras, making them innately better at basic aura use, while giving them a natural defense against rival auras. The domain of the user's authority can affect potency. For example, an [Innkeeper']s aura will be stronger within their inn than outside of it. The first part of Aura training, refinement and control is learning to gather and concentrate the aura. By consolidating one's own aura, it serves as defense against other auras. When mastered, even weak auras can resist most other Auras. Offensively, concentrating one's aura can allow the User to harm incorporeal beings such as Djinni, Daemons and Wisps. It can be refined to a razor's edge. Auras can also be used to read the nature of other auras, and physically affect objects and people. For example, [Ladies] of Izril use it in combination with [Deft Hand] to physically shove others. With advanced control, an aura can be used to warm a target, even without a fire affinity. === Manifestation === There are three stages of advanced aura manipulation: Manifestation, Materialization, and Conceptualization. Manifestation allows to user to make their aura visible, create images, or even shield their bodies. It is like a second instinct, a powerful commanding presence that can withstand mental compulsion. One method of Manifestation is the creation of an aura-decoy, where the aura is reformatted to create an illusion. Materialization lets the user create objects out of the aura or change their properties, such as conjuring a weapon or element. Conceptualization is the creation of a complete zone of authority that even magic fails before the very concept of the aura. It is rarely achieved. == Notable Groups == * The Flowers of Izril, [Ladies] of the North, are considered among the greatest aura experts in the world. They notably displayed impressive feats with their Auras like fighting off Velan when he assaulted First Landing at great cost in what would be known as the Sacrifice of Roses, and banishing the most powerful [Witch] in the world, Belavierr, from their lands. * The Order of Seasons are a [Knight] order that are specialist at Aura manipulation and using it in combat. They can display Materialization, and are said to have learned from the [Ladies] of Izril in antiquity. == List of Auras == * [Aura of Battle] ** Known users: The Crimson Soldier * [Aura of Command] ** Known users: Rags * [Aura of Disarming] ** Known users: Snatcher * [Aura of Flames] ** Known users: Maviola El * [Aura of Giants (Chess)] ** Known users: Erin Solstice (temporarily) * [Aura of Haste] ** Known users: Snatcher * [Aura of Midnight] ** Known users: Gothica * [Aura of Paralysis] ** Known users: Snatcher * [Aura of Protection] ** Known users: Ylawes Byres * [Aura of Righteous Fire] ** Known users: Raim * [Aura of Rime] ** Known users: Ceria Springwalker * [Aura of Spring] ** Known users: Markus, Meisa * [Aura of the Brave] ** Known users: Rabbiteater * [Aura of the Emissary] ** Known users: Rags * [Aura of the Emperor] ** Known users: Laken Godart * [Aura of the Hearth] ** Known users: Rabbiteater * [Aura of the King] ** Known users: Flos Reimarch * [Aura of the Lion] ** Known users: Raelt Leysars * [Aura of Thorns] ** Known users: Bethal Walchaís * [Dark Aura] ** Known users: Gothica * [Imperial Aura] ** Known users: Lyonette du Marquin * [Inn’s Aura] ** Known users: Erin Solstice === Related Skills === * [Aura Blade] * [Aura: Battering Ram] * [Aura: Distant Manipulation] * [Extended Aura: Gravity Well] *[Reconfigure Aura] === Specialist Classes === * [Aura Knight] == Trivia == * It is hypothesized that auras are meant to be part of a natural chain of superiority and weakness (rock paper scissors power system), but what they're meant to counter is unknown, though it is implied to be Miracles. *In Ailendamus, aura training for [Princes] and [Princesses] starts at sixteen years old. *In the Order of Seasons, the event for when a person awakens their aura is called the Advent of Color, and is marked by a celebration and toasts by the user's friends and family. == References == <references />
