Prince Ruis host a ball that the Calanfer Princesses; [[Shardele du Marquin|Shardele]], [[Aielef du Marquin|Ailef]], and [[Seraphel du Marquin|Seraphel]] attend. The Princesses are there to try to raise support from Nadel to help the Dawn Concordat fight Ailendamus. After welcoming them to the ball, Prince Ruis takes Shardele around the ball and makes introductions.<ref name=":0" />

Later in the evening Lord Bel and Prince Ruis attempt to speak to [[Pulcre|Lord Pulcre]], however they end up drawn into watching Lord Pulcre's amd Princess Seraphel's discussion of the war.<ref name=":0" />
