Thilowen was hand-picked by the [[Reclis du Marquin|king]] and [[Ielane du Marquin|queen]] to accompany the colonists to the New Lands and act as Seraphel's leash. She also suspected he had orders to bring back [[Lyonette du Marquin|Lyonette]].<ref>{{VERef|9.55 (Pt. 1)}}</ref> During the [[Bloodtear Pirates]] attack on the [[Terandria|Terandrian]] fleet, he led the Thronebearers in defense of the princess. In the final Night of Bloodtear, he sensed Prince [[Iradoren]]'s planned attack on [[Rabbiteater]], and deflected his blade. This caused a fight to ensue between [[Erribathe]]'s fighters and Rabbiteater's allies.<ref>{{VERef|9.70 (Pt. 3)}}</ref> He was was still on ''Throne's Will'' when it was headed to [[Baleros]].
