Bowom is a [Doctor] in the Fraerling village of Dretonamis.

Appearance

He has blue-black hair in a buzz-cut. He sometimes has additional limbs like a third arms, or a sixth finger, and a beetle's leg, which gives him a lopsided gait. He has a hammer-like chin. He wears a hand-stitched puffy suit to goes up to his hands, and an open kilt for his mismatched legs.

A literal [Mad Doctor], Bowom is unabashedly cheerful on performing experimental procedures on people. He is always promoting the benefits of getting new limbs, and has a propensity for laughing maniacally. His medical ethical standards are far murkier than that of Geneva Scala's or other [Healers], and is willing to " happily put embryonic unborn children or other mammals in jars and see whether or not they survive entry into bags of holding." However, he has admitted to trepidation at the thought of reaching Level 50, not knowing if he would embrace his class or abandon it. He has a kinder side when it comes to the mental health care of his patients, and is far more understanding and professional than he usually is.

Background

Bowom has not always lived in Dretonamis. He is wanted for medical malpractice in three (Fraeling) cities and sixteen villages suggesting that he has gotten around before settling in Dretonamis.

Chronology

Volume 10

Bowom is the main healer that takes care of Erin's health in the Fraeling village of Dretonamis after the war at sea against the Bloodtear pirates. For the first few days in the villages Erin stays with him in his healing crystal geode which he calls Getwell Geode.

When Erin had her sleepwalking fight with the Fraeling village houses and high-levels Bowom was the one who was wounded by her attacking him until Eurise showed up and she attacked the [Explorer]. Later, he also took Erin and Ulvama around the village when Erin was mobile again including the village kitchen house. He also reveals that he will probably hit level 50 before he turns 50 and that reaching the level scares him because he might fall into the mad part of his class but also adding that mad does not necessarily mean evil in his view.

When Ulavma is kidnapped by the Cottontail Raiders during the visit to Wyewesshi, Bowom is teleported from Dretonamis to sort the situation out. After Erin goes rogue to save Ulvama by herself he first fixes up Fenmi including reattaching the finger Erin cut of and then flies after her with Dragonfly wings he grows from his back. He only arrives after Erin had already rampaged through the Cottontail Raider base, but was fast enough to fix up the life-threatening injuries like Matha's cut throat. In the aftermaths Bowom talks to Erin about her going mad about Ulvama being gone and gives her "relationship" advice. In the end he also writes himself into the book the villagers use to keep track of people that left or visited and declares:

"Time, once more, to level again."
