Calirn is the Knight Commander of the Order of Seasons.

He has white hair, as white as the snow which he could call with the power of his aura.[1]
When alone, Calirn spreads his aura of freezing frost. He then appears to stand or move in a cloud of vapor, usually wearing grey and pale blue clothing.[2]

He embodies the ideals of a [Winter Knight]: being a solitary commander who makes cold decisions.
He doesn't make any pretense, and in discussion he goes straight to the point. This makes him far less suited to political maneuvering or flattery. His head even starts to hurt when politics get to much involved.[1]

As Knight Commander, he has authority even over the four Grandmaster Knights of their respective seasons. Protocols dictate that the Winter's Watcher shouldn't be in a room with him and all other Grandmasters, so that in case of the worst, the Order will be allowed to continue.

As soon as Calirn found out that [Stitch Witch] Belavierr was hiding in Izril,[2] he dispatched Ser Raim and five [Witch Hunters] to eliminate her, followed by 28 Seasonal [Knights].[3] As the [Witch] became aware of him, she demanded that he officially declared her the enemy of the Order, so that she would be justified in destroying it. Calirn backed down, knowing that she would probably survive a direct confrontation and then retaliate against the Order. So Raim had to challenge Belavierr on his own and died.[4]
