Chapter 2.16 is the 16th chapter of Huntsong.
Synopsis[edit | edit source]
Inside the coffin is a slumbering [Ancient Hunter] named Piortesenzth. He briefly wakes, sensing the nearby presence of Seraphel, who reminds him of Marquin’s kingdom, and a “spider scuttling about.”
Seven months after arriving to Menorome, Haeight is severely overworked to the point of exhaustion, having being gradually crushed by the corruption of the Guild. After filing a report, she is approached by Desk Hunter Marvekh, who informs her about a city in danger of an incoming Crypt Lord. Haeight is aggravated, especially since the Crypto Lord had risen from the Lightless Canyons, which was last swept for undead three months ago when it should have been cleared monthly. With no senior Hunters available and all the Veteran Hunters busy or claiming their indulgences, Haeight is forced to take the assignment.
