Huntsong Chapter 7 — Cara is the 7th chapter of Huntsong.

At the Synphasia Theatre, auditions are held by the Stitch-man owner Joeired. A ponce, he boasts about the Theatre's prestige while letting the auditioners know that their chances are slim at best. A Dwarf named Yoitha is haphazardly clinging onto the rafters above, hammering in nails as a stopgap to prevent the poorly-maintained roof from collapsing. In the middle of all this, Cara is ignoring Joeired, much to his anger, with all her attention focused on the hologram chatroom emanating from her phone.

Distracted by the chatroom conversation, Cara ignores Joeired until he blows up at her, telling to sing now or she’s out. Cara uses her Skills to create background music and illusions as she sings, which transfixes everyone in the auditorium. Yoitha is reminded of her past and failures as as an [Outcast Smith]. She starts weeping, but accidentally lets go of her harness and falls down from the ceiling’s ramparts.

Yoitha survives a thirty feet fall with nary a scratch. Joeired is simultaneously concerned and pissed at the Dwarf for breaking her fall with several chair. He is impressed with Cara’s performance based on its novelty, though criticizes her footwork and routines. A nearby half-Elf, Rolare is more disdainful, noting that Cara needs two more decades to improve, though he claims it to be a compliment. Jeoired accepts Cara and a [Beast Tamer] into the Synphasia Theatre. Afterwards, Cara reads the remainder of the chatroom conversations, in which the Earthers have discovered an imposter amongst them and disconnect in a hurry.

Cara is troubled by the chatroom conversation, but is pleased with having a fully charged phone again. Yoitha introduces herself to the [Singer], interested in the phone and songs she was singing. Cara tries lying using her Skills, but Yoitha is able to bypass them using a truth stone, though she promises to keep quiet about them. The Dwarf offers to help Cara move into the Synphasia but on their way, they are almost run over by a female [Hunter] riding a horse at full sprint.
