Gravesong Book One[edit | edit source]

Idelt was introduced to Cara by his daughter Violetta. He offered their home's hospitality to her until lord Lantal could see her. The next day, he introduced Cara to the other villagers. Cara offered to help Idelt with work, and he had her carrying wood so that he could make charcoal. Cara proved to not be strong enough, so he asked her to help Violetta collect Gloomwren eggs. Later, he stopped working so the sound of his hammer wouldn't clash with his daughter's music. When Cara played Let It Go from her phone, Idelt, like many other adults, wasn't didn't like that kind of music. Later, Cara fetched water for him, and when he said she needn't do so, bemoaned to him about being useless otherwise.

He, his daughter and Cara locked themselves in separate rooms of the house when the horde undead animals came into the village. He tried to comfort Violetta when she started crying, and explained to Cara how his wife died. Cara then soothed Violetta with music.

When Lantal arrived the next day to destroy the horde, he informed the [Lord] that most had already been killed by Rethis. Later he made a meal for Violetta and Cara, showing one of this cooking Skills. The next day, the three of them travelled to Adreissel.

After Cara levelled up from performing for Sasi and Culin, she showed off her new [Lesser Illusion] spell for hima dn Violetta. But when she made an illusiory smiley, it freaked them out and Idelt punched it and broke the wall behind it. They went to a [Healer], and Idelt took an order at a hefty discount to cover the fee for the wall. Cara payed the two silver fee for the [Healer].

He was granted a seat at the banquet to witness his daughter's performance.

During the undead siege of the town, Idelt fought on the wall with his daughter. Five days into the siege, a Draugr broke through the gate while he was stationed there to rest. Idelt recongnized it as Girel, the blacksmith of Qet. Idelt broke its arm, but lost his hammer in the process, and the undead bagan strangling him. But Cara's song alleviated his exhaustion and restored his strength. Idelt proceeded to kill the Draugr with his bare fists, gaining the [Brawler] class.

He and the people of Afiele fled the town when it fell, and later marched on the [Necromancer] to kill him. During the battle, he was forced back by a Draugr while a Ghoul attacked his daughter, but she was saved by a ghost.

He and his daughter attended Lantal and Risel's funeral with the people of Afiele.[1]
