| First Appearance |
Jerom is Agnes' husband. He was formerly named Cecil, then changed it to Ronald, and then changed again to Jerom.
Appearance edit edit source
He is handsome but thin man, probably due to being confined in bed all day, with a strong chin and a twinkle in his pale sapphire eyes. He even seems graceful—if that were marred by moments of weakness. His hair is swept back in a greying curl.[1]
Personality edit edit source
Lyonette experiences him as nice, clam and reasonable (if sickly). She also thinks he is handsome and probably had been good in being likable in his past job (spy or otherwise).[1]
Background edit edit source
When he and Agnes first met, he was called Cecil. Then, they went out, and he had to find work further north. When he came back, he was using Ronald as his name. He headed south—actually past Liscor, were he worked around there and came back as Jerom. All three times, Agnes didn’t quite remember him until he reintroduced himself.
Lyonette suspects him to be a former spy, that got poisoned, which would explain his bad health. She links his condition to that of Mihaela Godfrey as she is the only other person she knows with a lasting lung condition and endemic weakness. This might indicate that Jerom also got poisened by Wyrmr or a potent poison with similar effects.
He has mentioned working further north (of Celum and Liscor presumably) and South past Liscor in the past indicating his work took him to both deeper into the Human lands and into Drake and Gnoll dominated Southern Izril. He mentions being called Cecil before going North and going by Ronald after and coming back from the South as Jerom. [1]
Chronology edit edit source
Volume 9 edit edit source
When visiting the Wandering Inn, Jerom meets Lyonette and gifts her with a small carving of Mrsha after mentioning picking up the class while confined to his bed. When Visma loses her paper Antinium she painted and cries he gifts her with a wooden figurine of an Antinium to paint. Following that Lyonette and Troydel come up with the idea of selling Antinium figurines for kids to paint and Jerom and Lyonette both wanted to profit from the venture.[1] He also made some figurines with moveable arms.[2]

Trivia edit edit source
- Agnes forgot him each time after he went on assignment and changed his name. Either Agnes is very forgetful or he has some kind of skill that makes him less memorable to people.
