Khoteizetrough is an Vastlands Shambler Earth Elemental and the guardian of Gaarh Marsh Tribe.
Appearance edit edit source
It is not humanoid in appearance - it is far more rotund, has a 'face' of sorts, made of plant matter[1].
Parts of it continually decompose, other parts continually grow, which makes it smell of muck, rot, and growth[2].
When it speaks, it speaks with a mouth across its belly[3].
When it moves, the ground it walks on sprouts with life behind it.[1]
Personality edit edit source
Background edit edit source
One born of the Gaarh Marsh, which is the greatest of the swamps not purged by Drakes.
The first Gnolls had wandered into the swamps, many suffering, but eventually, one had struck a bargain with the heart of nature and the first guardians—the Earth Elementals—became their mentors and defenders.<ref name="8.16">

Powers and Abilities edit edit source
As a Shambler, it is one of the weakest forms of Earth Elemental.
Its steps leave plant growth, oftentimes magical and rare, and more fertile soil in their wake.
With a feather-light touch, it can command the earth to sunder into a huge fissure.
It can destroy a [Ritual of Land's Cataclysm] called forth by the combined magic of the Plains' Eye Tribe, directed by the [Shaman of the Eternal Grasslands] Ulcreziek, and a thousand other [Shamans] to destroy their enemies, which were more than 100,000 Gnolls. The Grand Ritual opened a fault in the earth and summoned magma from it, raising bits of molten stone high and casting them through the air towards the Gnolls. Khotieztrough blocked them all with his body and charged forth at the faultline filled with magma. He thrust his body into it, and sacrificed himself to close the fault. That fault turned into a magical swamp which began to grow many rare, magical plants because of his death.
Later on, Great Shaman Theikha communed with the grave of Khotieztrough and thereon it lived through her.
