Chapter 4.08 T (Mentioned) |
The Mother of Graves is the protector of Liscor's Dungeon. She has three guardians who serve her, them being Skinner, Snatcher, and Stalker.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
The Mother of Graves has been said to be "not a person", represented as massive being that swims.
The description given by Lord Moore in the Ten Years Later simulation is as follows:
"The largest monster in the world. A writhing, sinuous red shape, with long whip-like arms and terribly strong suckers on the end of them. Razor mouth, slithering body, and intelligence, true intelligence lurking behind those tiny black eyes set onto the scaleless snake’s body, the twisted earthworm given legs. Carrion-feeder, corpse thief, infestation. And a form infinitely bigger than all her children, lurking in the darkness and waiting."[1]
Personality[edit | edit source]
Background[edit | edit source]
The Mother of Graves was created by Liskaldreth, the Walled City of Graves, and took control of it such that even its Draconic Titans deferred to her. After the city was sunk underground for its crimes, the mad inhabitants worshipping her converted the city into a Vengeance Dungeon. The Mother of Graves spread microscopic flesh worms telepathically connected to her into the dungeon, pupating in the stagnant waters and infesting all the monsters, giving her control over them.
Chronology[edit | edit source]
Volume 4[edit | edit source]
Toren explores the dungeon and walks up a short staircase. A message written in elegant script is written above a simple metal door. The message was etched into stone and enchanted to last forever. He walks through the door, and then quickly backs out seconds later, chased by "things".[2]
Horrible death awaits all those who enter this place. Your bodies shall be taken and made part of the Mother of Graves.
Warnings on a wall read by Toren in Liscor's Dungeon.[2]
Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]
As the protector of Liscor's Dungeon, it may be the one that controls the waves of monsters in the first layer of the dungeon. Although it's said to not be a person, it's mentioned that The Grand Design has given it powers similar to Kasigna's.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- It was revealed in Ch 5.42 that she is the boss of Liscor's Dungeon.
- It was created later than the Mortemdefieir Titan, but still at least 20,000 years ago.[3]
