He had not risen to [General] yet, but had studied Flos and tried to learn all there was to know about the man when he tried to lure him into his ambush, where the [Geomancer] of the Quarass was tasked to kill Flos.

Chronology

The ambush failed, and it remained unclear whether Nune survived and fled, or died in battle. The kingdom of Hellios eventually surrendered to Flos and Queen Calliope abdicated.
