Rae is an Earther from France who was transported to Terandria in 2021 and became part of Cara O'Sullivan's Band .[1][2]

Rae lacks a stage presence and suffers from stage-fright to the point of vomiting before a performance.[2]
Background[edit | edit source]
After she came to Innworld, Rae was either found by Cara or sought her out after hearing her music. Rae is younger than Abebi and Thein.[3]
She is capable of playing most of Cara's songs on her guitar.[1]
Chronology[edit | edit source]
Volume 7[edit | edit source]
Rae is first seen in Volume 7 when the Singer of Terandria performs in the city of Phel's Light. At this time, Rae had only performed 4 times and she is very nervous to be on stage.[1]
She is present when Cara argues with Aaron over the phone after her Wistram News performance is canceled. After the segment is recheduled, Rae performs during the broadcast as part of the band. [3] Rae performs again when Cara puts on a concert to empower Ryoka during her bicycling run to deliver an antidote to Tyrion Veltras.[4]
Volume 8[edit | edit source]
The Singer's Band watches the global running display televised by Wistram from their traveling caravan.[5] When the band performs during their entrance to Ailendamus, Cara notes that Rae has still not developed a stage presence. [6] She is becoming more accustomed to performing but is terrified of accidentally revealing the secret. Abebi and Rae are discussing Ryoka when they see 'Greg' (actually Cara) chatting with the Wind Runner before leaving with her.[7]
When Ryoka meets the band, Rae reveals she was transported to Innworld in 2021 and that Earth is currently facing a pandemic made worse by conspiracies about the disappearing earthers.[2] Rae is revealed to still be suffering stage fright when she vomits prior to The Singer of Terrandria's indoor performance in Ailendamus' theater.[2]
