Zessoprica, also known as the Sovereign of Sands, was an ancient Great Wyrm legend of old.

Zessoprica once ruled Zeikhal as the Sovereign of Sands, She also fought in Baleros with Nagas serving under her command, and even Zeres paid allegiance to her in years past.[1] She and the other Great Wyrms of Chandrar were eventually defeated by a coalition led by the remaining Dragonlords, though she managed to escape.[2]
11,441 years ago, she ended up on Terandria without any allies, and was killed in Terandria by adventurers, armies, and ‘heroes’. Unbeknownst to them, Zessoprica was pregnant, and her unborn children were aware of the situation outside their mother's body. So they plotted and grew on her flesh, until 6 days later, when the triumphant adventurers and armies, who were taking her body apart, pierced her side, the newly-born came out. Despite dying by the score, they killed the army and fled before the ‘heroes’ who slew Zessoprica returned.[1]
Her soul went to Baleros, like most of Draconic kind did.

She is mentioned by Rhisveri as he is telling Ryoka about his origins and a bit about his mother's legend and death.[1]
During the Days of Return, she and the dead Dragonlords spoke to Rhisveri, warning him about the Dead Gods.

- Rhisveri's surname is a modified form of Zessoprica's name. It is also the surname for King Itorin II.
- She was mentioned for the first time in Chapter 8.56, and made her first appearance in Chapter 8.82 (Pt. 2).
