System messages or system announcements refer to announcements sent by the System of Classes and Levels that assigns Classes and Skills to the inhabitantsof Innworld.

System messages serve to announce level ups, class changes, and other functions tracked by the Grand Design, such as Titles, Conditions, Aspects, and Quests. They are heard by an individual when sleeping or losing consciousness. Selphids residing within a living host body can hear the announcements received by their host.[1]

Skills come in a variety of modifiers to indicate what or who the Skill affects. They are suffixed with a :

- System indication for unique and newly created Skills.
- #FF0000 - Pure Red (RGB values are 255, 0, 0) [3] [4]
- Red Skills, Classes, and Horror Ranks. System indication for them as being negative and not refusable.
- #99CCFF - Baby Blue Eyes (RGB values are 153, 204, 255) [5] [6]
- System indication for Class restoration and conviction Skills. Also used to indicate an active Skill when viewed via [Greater Appraisal].
- #FFD700 - Gold (RGB values are 255, 215, 0) [7] [8] [9]
- System indication for royal, faith or temporary Skills.
- #FF9900 - Vivid Gamboge (RGB values are 255, 153, 0)
- #CC99FF - Pale Violet (RGB values are 204, 153, 255) [13] [14] [15] [16]
- System indication for authority-related Skills.

- As of Volume 9 there currently does not exist a proper name for announcements or messages sent by the Grand Design.
obtained/Obtainedandclass/Classcapitalizations are both used in system messages throughout The Wandering Inn.
