First Appearance

Verdan Blackwood is one of the Titled Archmages of Wistram, and is associated with the Iron Vanguard. He is the Archmage of Dullahans despite being Human, due to him following the Dullahan practice of donning armor, and adopting their rituals and traditions.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

He is an elderly man who constantly wears "mage armor" mimicking the appearance of Dullahans.[1]

Personality[edit | edit source]

Similar to Dullahans, Verdan has a reserved personality and doesn't display strong emotions. He is fiercely loyal to the Iron Vanguard, and is considered an extension of their might.[2] He is cautious, preferring to avoid direct conflict.

Background[edit | edit source]

Verdan was adopted and raised by Dullahans. At some point, he joined the Iron Vanguard.

He attended Wistram Academy, joining the Qua-Baleros faction. During his years there, he would often engage in partisan political discussion or activity with his peers. Eventually, he was recognized as a Titled Archmage.

In his old age, Verdan recognized that he lacked the stamina to continue to fight it out constantly with the other factions, he retired to Baleros.[3]

Chronology[edit | edit source]

Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]

He was stated to be strong enough to take down a Sea Serpent,[4] though he has less stamina in his old age.[3]
