The Battle Hamster is a notable individual of the Battle Hamster species from Baleros. It is currently accompanying Erin Solstice, Ulvama, and the Corumdon Beetle.

He has brownish-grey fur, with a horizontal stripes on his lower half. He has scars all over his body, and one of his eyes is missing.[1]

The Battle Hamster is aggressive, domineering, and highly territorial, frequently attempting to intimidate or attack nearby fighters regardless of size. Like other members of his species, he survives by extorting food from weaker animals through intimidation and violence.
While generally resistant to authority and magical influence, he actively enjoys pampering, particularly grooming, which is one of the reasons why he is following Ulvama and to a much lesser extent, Erin.[2] While usually disinclined to obey the Hobgoblin [Shaman], even with her [Boss Around Wildlife] Skill,[3] he more or less treats her as part of his "tribe."[4] The Battle Hamster has a strong sense of pride, reacting negatively to perceived indignities such as Erin's amusement at a happy face marking on his fur - despite having no idea what a happy face is[2] - and was outraged at a plushie model made in his image.[4]
He has been noted to be "civilized" compared to other Battle Hamsters, despite trying to regularly pick fights with Erin, Eurise, or other wildlife. It is seemingly a loner, as Battle Hamsters have been observed operating in more violent gangs.

Soon after arriving to Baleros, a Fraerling-sized Erin Solstice saw the Battle Hamster bullying chipmunks for food, and attacking a group of Wailer Frogs. Sensing the [Innkeeper's] aura and perceiving her as an enemy, he started following her and Ulvama, picking up a bat that Erin discarded.[5][6] After failing to win a fight with Erin and Ulvama, the hamster engaged in a three-way brawl with her and the Corumdon Beetle. However, they were all forced to team up against a colony of thousands of army ants. After killing the ant queen, they escaped on the beetle's back.[3]
The hamster started traveling with Erin and Ulvama on the beetle's back. Though he had taken a liking to Ulvama, who groomed and fed him, he maintained a conscientious—and wary—relationship with the [Innkeeper], from whom he frequently stole food. The hamster tried to attack the Fraerling delegation when they met up, though was dissuaded by their high levels. The group was taken to the village of Dretonamis.[7]
When Ulvama was "kidnapped" by the Cottontail Raiders, the hamster accompanied Erin and rode the Corumdon Beetle to the group's hideout. While Erin and the beetle destroyed the base and fought Matha and the other Raiders, the hamster tracked down Ulvama and tried to carry her off. However, the Hobgoblin [Shaman] stopped the attack, and prevented any more injuries.[8]
When the group arrived in Lemoste-Under-Cliff, the hamster and beetle joined the Fraerling expedition to destroy the ant queens that had attacked the settlement.[9]

The hamster is a master in a style of martial arts that can create shockwaves that damage the opponent's innards, by twisting its body and unleashing its force.
