First Appearance |
Greydath or Greybeard when incognito, is an old Goblin Lord who served Curulac and Velan. He travels the world seeking a Goblin King.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Greydath is tall, as tall as Headscratcher is, and lean. He only wears a long-hanging loincloth with a belt and carries a greatsword on his back. Greydath's body is covered in scars. His most noticeable feature is his beard, which no other goblin has. It is grey and long, running down even to his chest in a wispy point.
As one might expect of someone of his age and as a veteran warrior, he has a few missing teeth.[1]
Personality[edit | edit source]
Greydath is a rare type of old Goblin Lord that still goes out to find goblins that have what it takes to be Goblin Kings. He tests young goblins for this purpose and occasionally helps them as well.
Background[edit | edit source]
Greydath is the grandson of Curulac of a Hundred Days, and had known him personally.[2] He has fought and killed [Archmages], which makes him at least 200 years old.[2] He once fought Uzine the Agelum, and is the only Goblin to have done so and lived,[3] and killed Visophecin's father.[2] He became the old Goblin Lord of Izril though he doesn't always stay there,[4] and has been seeking Goblins who would become Kings.
During the Second Antinium War, Greydath was known as the greatest warrior, someone whose skill at arms let him cut the air itself. He could match any [Blademaster], any [Sword Dancer] or [Duelist].

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Rags noted that he had no pull among the tribe, no mental draw or connection that told him he was her greater. He had no aura that marked him as unique, or even as a Hob. That was something intrinsic to all Goblinkind and he lacked it, thus making her think that Greydath is like a ghost in the world. She contemplates whether this was his choice or a consequence of the last Goblin King’s death.[5]
- He is able to read the classes of others.[6]
