Serafierre val Lischelle-Drakle, more commonly known as Fierre, is a Vampire and a member of the Drakle Family.

Appearance edit edit source

Fierre is shorter than Ryoka (by a good bit) and slimmer.[1] She is wrapped up in layers of dark clothing, which also cover her hands, and even wears beneath them a hat on top of her black hair.[3]

Being a Vampire, Fierre has pale skin, red eyes, and sharp teeth.[4] Although she is already in her mid twenties.[1]

Personality edit edit source

While initially seeming standoffish, Fierre is a friendly young woman eager to prove herself. While proud of her Vampire heritage, she is terrified at the thought of being discovered and killed for who she is, which is why she tends to close herself off to most people, though this somewhat changed after meeting Ryoka.[5] She's willing to help her friends, even at personal risk.

Fierre is a competent Broker and is adept at networking.

Background edit edit source

Despite the fact Fierre doesn't really age due to being a vampire, she chose to appear younger when she first came to Reizmelt and over the years slowly made herself grow older to avoid suspicion.[1]

Chronology edit edit source

Upon meeting Fierre, Ryoka Griffin figured out that Fierre was a vampire because she was pale, stayed out of the sunlight, ate bloody meat, and ground poisons without ill effects. She asked what it was like to be a vampire, which frightened Fierre and made her kidnap Ryoka. She brought Ryoka to her family’s farm/castle.

There, Ryoka met Fierre’s family. Calfa, Fierre’s mother, acted like a stereotypical Transylvanian vampire. She tried to charm Ryoka using her gaze, but because of Ryoka’s experiences breaking a geas spell and fighting off Lady Magnolia’s aura, she was able to resist. Fierre’s family figured out that Ryoka wasn’t a danger to them, but Himilt, Fierre’s father, warned Ryoka not to put his daughter in danger our he would find her and kill her. After this, the two began to grow closer.

When Ryoka to Riverfarm to help because Laken Godart asked her to, she asked Fierre to look up the different witches who had shown up. Fierre discovered that the contact she had been communicating with had been found with his tongue sewn to the top of his mouth and he suffocated to death. She figured out that Belavierre had a huge outstanding warrant. The Order of the Seasons sent out a missive promising a huge gold reward on information for Balavierre’s whereabouts. Fierre decided to do nothing because she heard that several other people had been found dead related to Belavierr.

One night, while trying to figure things out, she wrote Belavierre’s name down on a piece of paper, activating a curse that animated every needle in Reizmelt to kill her. She survived the attack because of her vampire heritage and because none of the needles was silver. Furious, she contacted the Order of the Seasons and told them Belavierr was in Riverfarm. She received the bounty and used it to further her secret broker business.

After Ryoka returned from Riverfarm, she joined Ryoka on a delivery to wake the archmage of Izril. Ryoka had gotten a panacea cure from Teriarch at their last meeting, which she gave to Fierre. This cured Fierre of The Malady that effects vampire, but it made her much more vulnerable to garlic and sunlight. Sunlight now burned her immediately, even when it was cloudy, and garlic caused immense pain.

On the Archmage of Izril’s island, Fierre was instrumental in overcoming some of the traps. She stepped on a magical land mine, and was able to rush Ryoka to safety just in time. The mirror room didn’t create a doppelgänger of her because she had no reflection. Unlike Ryoka, she didn’t succumb to the sleeping gas and helped to fight off golems and shadow familiars while Ryoka was unconscious. Upon entering the trap that caused insanity, she became insane and attacked Ryoka, who was able to fight off the effects of the insanity spell. She was taken by the shadow familiars and thrown into a warded prison cell. They met the mage courier, Salamani, who had also been contracted to wake up the Archmage of Izril.

Ryoka used her wind magic to bring a bag of holding and sword to the cells of the cage. Salamani then used the sword to break the ward keeping them in. It’s revealed that, like Az-Kerash, the Archmage of Izril had used a skill to split her attention in 40 different parts. They took all of the things from previous people who had tried to wake the archmage and began to proceed through the mansion. Ryoka decided that it was too dangerous to keep going through the mansion when a hallway of [chain lightning] nearly killed them even with a barrier spell. They left the mansion without setting off any traps because the traps had been designed to active upon entering the room, not exiting it.

When they got outside, Ryoka had a plan. They began setting fire to the island, which set off so many warning alarms in the Archmage’s head that her split attention focused completely on Ryoka, Fierre, and Salamani, effectively waking her up. The Archmage was curious about Ryoka and Fierre because of their anomalies, but let them leave the island.

Upon returning to Reizmelt, Fierre became deathly sick when visiting her family home.
