Calendar System

From The Wandering Inn Wiki

The Calendar System is the standard measurement of time used by the inhabitants of Innworld.

Overview[edit | edit source]

An Innworld year has sixteen months, with four weeks each month and eight days a week.[1][2] Despite the longer years, the inhabitants still conform to Earth's sense of time, and an eight year old in Innworld will resembles an eight year old, rather than looking older.[3]

The days are called (in order of revelation):

  • Laudas[4] - A name of a day used in Roshal, which refers to the 23rd of Solla.
  • Beithday[5]
  • Tirenv[6]
  • Nendas[7] - The 4th day of the week.
  • Saelsmorn[8] - The 2nd day of the week.
  • Lundas[9]
  • Liriean[10] - A name of a day used by Ailendamus.

The months are called (in order of revelation):

  • Rerrk[11] - The 4th month of the Year, 4th month of Spring
  • Solla[4]
  • Weris[10] (may be an alternate name for Solla or only feature on Ailendamus' calendars)
  • Evium[12] - The 9th month of the Year, 1st month of Autumn.
  • Liuwhe[13] - The 13th month of the Year, 1st month of Winter
  • Mouring[8] - The 14th month of the Year, 2nd month of Winter
  • Elfebelfast[14] - The 15th month of the Year, 3rd month of Winter

The Winter Solstice takes place on the last day of Mouring.

Calendar Eras[edit | edit source]

Innworld eras are marked by events. For instance, the current era is A.F., which stands for "After Flos," signifying the defeat of the King of Destruction Flos Reimarch. Each era has its own dating system, making it difficult to track events chronologically,[15] such as the era when magic was dead, D.O.M., (Death of Magic), where each year is marked as negative, as a [Historian] decided to make the year magic returned "Year 0."[16]

Date and Time Order[edit | edit source]

Note: The following information was compiled across multiple chapters and is subject to change or retconned with new chapters

Taking in account a month seems to have exactly four weeks and the latest date confirmed[8]: 10/14/23 was a Saelsmorn. It means each month starts on the first day of the week(no name given yet). Calculating what day of the week is Laudas(name probably only used in Roshal), it would be the 7th day of the week.

The days in their supposed order:

  • Saelsmorn[8] - The 2nd day of the week.
  • Nendas[7] - The 4th day of the week.
  • Lundas[9] - The 6th day of the week
  • Laudas[4] - The 7th day of the week.
  • Beithday[5]
  • Tirenv[6]
  • Liriean[10]

The months in their supposed order:

  • Rerrk[11] - The 4th month of the Year, last month of Spring
  • Solla[4] - The 7th or 8th month of the Year, 3rd or 4th month of Summer
  • Weris[10] - The possible 8th month of the Year, 4th month of Summer
  • Evium[12] - The 9th month of the Year, 1st month of Autumn
  • Liuwhe[13] - The 13th month of the Year, 1st month of Winter
  • Mouring[8] - The 14th month of the Year, 2nd month of Winter
  • Elfebelfast[14] - The 15th month of the Year, 3rd month of Winter

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Christmas was formally established on the 25th of Mouring, the 2nd month of Winter and the 14th month of the year.[13]
  • Both of Innworld's moons are full during every Solstice.[17]
