Synopsis[edit | edit source]
Day 61
Laken invites Odveig and Wiskeria in to the cottage to talk about the Goblin threat. They mention that it's probably down to the Great Goblin Chieftain but there's also a rumor that some women were freed and left outside of Merendia by a Goblin tribe. The Goblins in the mountain are probably still angry when the tribe left so they're sending out raiding parties for food.
Laken tells Prost to start constructing palisades around the vulnerable areas of the village. Gamel introduces Laken to two of the villagers, Tessia, his childhood sweetheart, and Erhart. The villagers of Windrest arrive and Laken welcomes them as long as they stay there he'll do his best to protect them. Laken reassures Helm that everyone will have work, a roof and a warm belly and has Prost organise them. One of the older men, Jelov a [Carver], approaches Laken asking about work and Laken asks him to make a special totempole for him. Laken shakes Beniar's hand and levels.
Day 62
Laken sends Beniar out to patrol and hunt while the Celestial trackers remain to defend the village. Prost is worried about buried rats in the field and Laken uses his Emperor senses to help locate them so they can be exterminated. Frostwing joins the dogs during the hunt. Jelov finishes the first totem. Laken levels as a [Beast Tamer].
Day 63
A pair of travelers make it to the village, also having been attacked by Goblins. Laken decides that more must be done so he asks the adventurers to train some of the villagers into a militia, aided by his new skill [Empire: Low-born Militias]. He has Beniar train Durene. Laken also suggests that the militia does exercises to get into shape and after exhausting them he gives them a speech telling them how important it is to train to be a [Soldier]. Laken senses someone in the cottage but by the time they arrive there's nobody there.
Day 65
Durene and Laken head to the Mossbear's cave after Laken decides to parley with it. Laken brings food and uses his voice of command to try and abate the Mossbear, it works. Durene notices that a patch of the bears fur is missing. Laken levels up to a Level 7 [Beast Tamer].
Day 66
Gamel wakes up Laken and Durene, Beniar's been hurt while on patrol. Wiskeria manages to mix a brew to cure the poison from his wound. When Beniar is concious he tells Laken that they were ambushed by five Goblins and he saw his teammate Fabiel die. A horn call sounds in the distance from the Goblins.
