Wears a deceptively fine cotton shirt with gossamer-thin thread and anti-breaking enchantments.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Background[edit | edit source]

Doubte rose to prominence during a crisis of wars and monsters endured by his home nation of Zethe. Doubte slew the Orebu-Beetle Queen, won three wars, and put Zethe back on the map as a regional power. However, he eventually lost affection for his role and went into hiding.[1]

During the early days of the King of Destruction's reign, Doubte fought against him twice and lived to retire into anonymity.[2]

Chronology[edit | edit source]

Volume 8:[edit | edit source]

When Fetohep of Khelt tolled a bell that signaled danger and raced to other continents, Doubte interrupted him and joined Fetohep to fight an as of then unknown evil. He made the journey across the world alongside other powerful figures that Fetohep had gathered and ended up at the meeting of the tribes where he fought against Belavierr to stop her from murdering gnolls.[3]

Quotes[edit | edit source]

  • (To Flos) "…You had a just enough cause. I wearied of war. Just as I tired of being called Hero of Zethe. Only for Fetohep of Khelt did I take up a sword. Because what we are doing will avert disaster for the ones I love. I trust to that and hope you will let me rest in anonymity afterwards."
  • (To Belavierr) "[Witch]. We stand at calamity’s door, and you kill while laughing. For you—I will take up arms once more."
