Imlerith

From The Wandering Inn Wiki

Imlerith, also known as the City of Crossroads, is one of the lost Walled Cities.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Imlerith used to be responsible for travel in the Crossroads of Izril. Its remains are located in the Crossroads, and its defenses still function. There is a barrier protecting the city and filling in the gaps in the walls. Guardians will appear to fight off threats and enemies to the city, or if anyone tries to pick the gate's lock or open it by force. They are formed from threads of light in the shape of an eighteen feet tall glowing Drake, can shoot beams from its eyes and breathe dragonbreath, and summon a halberd with an edge of red light. The gates can also shoot bolts of [Light Arrows] or a powerful fiery ray.

Layout[edit | edit source]

It's walls are 40 feet tall, making them the shortest for a Walled City seen thus far. The walls of the city are adorned with faded mosaics of many species walking towards a pair of bright gates. Above the gates is a sign in Drakish that says ‘The City of Crossroads, Imlerith, welcomes all’.[1]

Entrance[edit | edit source]

The gates are believed to have opened for visitors and citizens before it entered lockdown. When knocking on the Gates, they will ask that the visitor produces a key or asks a guardian to open the gate for them. The gates presumably open for the inhabitants of other Walled Cities, but demands proof presented to the gates or a guardian:

  • Pallass: Proof of being someone that adds to the worlds.
  • Manus: Proof of having fought in defense of Izril.
  • Oteslia: A token of nature's esteem.
  • Zeres: A pact of waves.
  • Fissival: A sign of magic.
  • Grunvel: A token of true friendship.
  • Mershi: Considered to have vanished. The proof must be presented to a guardian.
  • City of Graves: Entry denied, and visitors driven away.
