First Appearance

Chapter 2.22 K

Mars, also known as Mars the Illusionist, is one of the Seven, and the Vanguard of Flos Reimarch.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Illusionary Form:[edit | edit source]

With the help of her magical items, Mars is capable of casting an illusion over her body, resulting in a drastic change of appearance. She has long, bouncing red curls of hair, very big breasts, a slender frame and unscarred skin. She carries a massive round shield, which is strapped to her back, and a sword at her hip.[1]

True Appearance:[edit | edit source]

Without making use of her "trinkets", she has a shorter, thicker figure and flat chest, with pale skin, a face that is a bit plain with a few faint freckles, a nose that was a bit snubbed and brown hair. Moreover, she wears armor that is grey, with a visor helmet on her head.[2]

Personality[edit | edit source]

Mars is boisterous and relaxed in manner. She is insecure about her own appearance, as she never shows it in public, and instead prefers to cast illusions to make herself look attractive. Otherwise, she is quite ostentatious. Mars is very confident in battle, and is always itching for a fight. Similar to the other members of the Seven, she is devoted to Flos.

When battling, she wishes that her enemies would surrender so that she doesn't have to slaughter them.

Background[edit | edit source]

Mars was born in Nerrhavia's Fallen and became a [Gladiator] in their arenas. She conquered the Coliseum of Monarchs, their most high-level arena, and became known as the Eternal Gladiator. [3]

When warring with Reim, Nerrhavia's Fallen sent her to fight Flos and his forces. He lost the duel against her and was forced to run. In Flos's own words, "It got hairy," until Mars decided to switch sides and became one of his vassals.[4]

Mars would be at the head of every charge, and crush the opposing army’s champion before each battle.[5]

She has incredible amounts of stamina and can fights entire armies alone for hours. [3]

Chronology[edit | edit source]

Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]

Mars can't do any magic, however she possesses numerous magical items.[1] She is a pure warrior, and an oustanding one at that. However, while it is true that she excels in combat, she is lacking in many other areas, making her rather inflexible. As a result, she is often employed only at specific times.[6]

  • At level 66, Mars was the second highest level warrior on Chandrar. With Torreb's death,[7] she is now the highest.
  • Mars is the highest-level of Flos's Seven.[1]
  • According to Trey, Mars's illusionary form looks exactly like a supermodel altered in photoshop or out of an anime or video game, which is to say, stylized, unrealistic perfection of the female form…according to males.
  • Mars is not her real name, but rather the name she chose for herself.[3]
  • Her pale skin is from a lack of sunlight.
  • So far only three people had ever dueled Mars and lived after she used [Call of the Champion].[8]

Quotes[edit | edit source]

  • (To Gazi) “It’s good to see you again, Gazi. A pity you didn’t come earlier; I would have dearly loved to see our lord’s face had we walked in together.”
  • (To the Twins) “You two are the ones who woke my liege lord, aren’t you? I owe you a huge debt, Trey and Teres, was it?”
  • (To Gazi) “An [Innkeeper]? A girl below Level 20? She struck you?
  • (To Trey) “Here’s to not being able to ride a damn horse as fast as those two! And not being able to fight on horseback at all!”
  • (To Flos) “I disobeyed your orders, my King. I wouldn’t have come, but I received a message from a certain son of a certain vassal you might know.”
  • (To her Soldiers) “I hear it. Looks like they’re trying to make music. Keep calm, girls and boys. Nobody scare them or they’ll stretch their shiny silk backsides.”
  • (To Nerrhavia Fallen’s troops) “Remember that, you arrogant silk handkerchiefs.”
  • (To Nerrhavia Fallen’s army) “Flee or perish! In the name of the King of Reim! By the will of the King of Destruction! I am Mars the Illusionist! Greatest of the Seven! I will not quit this field until the last foe falls before me or runs howling back into the sands that birthed you!
  • (To Salui) “…They call me Mars the Illusionist. In the arena, I was known as the ‘Eternal Gladiator’. They call me Mars. Mars, one of the Seven of the King of Destruction.”
