The People of God, also known as the People of Zeikhal, is a militant Christian cult founded in Innworld.
History[edit | edit source]
The People of God was founded by the Prophet, who converted others to his beliefs.
A group of sixty of the People aided Pisces and his group of escaped slaves against Roshal slavers.[1] They preached their faith afterwards before the two groups parted ways.[2]
Fetohep received a threat from an exiled citizen that the Prophet would come to Khelt with the goal of deposing him.[3]
They came in conflict with the Cult of Windcaller’s Fury, and defeated the Fury of the Skies. They stripped the cult of their possessions, including healing potions, and over half of the Windcaller followers joined them.[4]
In Medain, they tried to induct new recruits and gain support to overthrow Khelt, coming into conflict with the guards because of their diatribes. They traded seven of their healing scrolls to Seve-Alrelious in exchange for precious gems, to use as funds and to create a crown.[5]
The People of Zeikhal invaded Khelt, battling the undead soldiers with little fear, their powers of faith proving effective against the undead.[6]
Beliefs[edit | edit source]
The People believe that God saves them from hunger, thirst, and monsters, and provides them with mana.
They are opposed to slavery. They are also hostile towards other cults, even if they are non-religious, believing them to be liars. They seem to be opposed to undeath, thought he group that fought with Pisces did not seem to have a problem with him. They are opposed to Fetohep in particular, who they call an immortal tyrant that hoards wealth and liken to an Egyptian Pharaoh similar to the one that enslaved the Hebrews in the Exodus. The Prophet also believes that he was responsible for the Dead Gods that came to him on the Solstices. They deem A'ctelios Salash to be profane, and that its inhabitants cannot be saved.
Capabilities[edit | edit source]
Members of the People of God are able to create bread and draw water from stone. They can put their healing miracles into scrolls. Their miracles burns the flesh of inhabitants of A'ctelios Salash.[5]
A [Bishop] was able to summon a being with wings and a burning gaze, a description that evokes the image of an angel.[7]
