Background[edit | edit source]

Salvia was a lieutenant from Nonelmar. She was later promoted to [Captain]. She led a group of [Riders] for her city, Nonelmar.[1][2]

Chronology[edit | edit source]

Volume 4[edit | edit source]

Salvia arrived in Invrisil as a part of the forces Nonelmar sent to answer Magnolia Reinhart's levy to battle the Goblin Lord. She had specifically requested to come forth, eager to fight the Goblin Lord. She encountered Gershal, a familiar face and rival. They greeted each other with a fist-bump, a customary Nonelmar greeting, and then gathered in her tent to catch up and eat his city's, Vaunt's, famous cheese.

Shortly later, Magnolia's coalition of Human armies gathered to hear Magnolia speak. To their shock and anger, [Soldiers] realize that they are to be commanded by Zel Shivertail, a Drake [General]. Zel gave a speech, rousing the [Soldiers] to battle, for Izril. Gershal, and then Salvia, were the first to voice their support for Zel.[1]

This is the way to fight a battle! Come on lads, let’s hit the Goblins again!
Salvia commanding her [Riders], alight with battle mettle and adrenaline.[3]

Days later, the Goblin Lord arrives with his large host and clashes with Zel's Human army. Salvia's role in the battle is to lead her [Riders] with the orders sent to her by a [Messenger]. They employed hit-and-run tactics and, when an opportunity presented itself, the [Riders] would become a wedge to separate groups of Goblins from the main army.

Eventually, the Goblin Lord would focus upon their calvary with his Deathbolts and a coordinated charge from mounted Goblins, pikes, and archers. Goblins threatened to encircle Salvia's unit and they struggled to find a weak spot to break through. Reynold, Magnolia Reinhart's [Butler] and carriage driver, took the reins of Magnolia's magical carriage to rush to the calvary's aid and allow the [Riders] to break away from a disastrous Goblin encirclement.[3]

Later, a force of Goblins were sent to attack Magnolia and her escort on the sidelines. Salvia's unit rushed to their aid.

Sometime after Zel Shivertail's personal engagement with the Goblin Lord, Salvia's mount had been downed. Gershal had found her and carried her away.[4]

Volume 9[edit | edit source]

Salvia has risen to the rank of [Major]. She inherited Gershal's sword, the one enchanted by Erin with the memory of the Tidebreaker.[5]

Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]

Classes/Levels:[edit | edit source]

  • [Captain] Lv. ?
    • Derived from [Lieutenant][1]

  • [Scatter Gallop]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • In Chapter 5.31 G Salvia is said to have been Gamel's girlfriend and an [Engineer]. This likely is an inconsistency and mistake, mixing Tessia up with Salvia.

Quotes[edit | edit source]

  • (To Gershal) “Good stuff! I can’t tell you how much I miss your city’s cheeses. I tried to buy some in Invrisil as soon as my soldiers settled in, but you wouldn’t believe the prices!”
  • (To Gershal) “Don’t say that within earshot, you fool! The Knights of the Petal take any insult against their [Lady] or their order to heart. They’ve thrashed officers who’ve laughed at them and they’ll break bones if you insult Lady Bethal.”
  • (To Zel) “My cavalry will ride with any man, Drake or Gnoll against a common foe! I pledge my unit to your command!”
