First Appearance |
Embria Grasstongue is a Drake and Relc's daughter. She is also the [Wing Commander] of the Liscorian Army's 4th Company, the Skywalker’s Company.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
She is around Olesm's height,[2] has bright red scales, and is in the physical prime of her life.[3]
After battling Lulv for the second time, she got a scar that ran from right below her left eye to down across her mouth, across her chest and her side.[4]
Personality[edit | edit source]
Disciplined and driven, Embria possesses the hallmarks of a good [Soldier] and leader. While she can get heated, she is level-headed enough to back down when necessary. Personality-wise, she is opposite to her father, which combined with their clashing ideologies towards the army, causes a great deal of bickering and awkwardness between the two. Despite that, she still loves him and will not tolerate any disrespect towards him from anyone. Still, she can get very embarrassed at Relc's immaturity and childish antics.
Background[edit | edit source]
Embria was born to Relc and his partner Oresha while they were both serving in Liscor's army. She would travel with them as the army went from place to place. At one point, Oresha was killed by Goblins, which would lead to a lifelong hatred of Goblins for Embria. Eventually, Relc left the army, taking Embria with him back to Liscor. She would stay there for a couple of years, becoming friends with Drassi and Selys, and according to the former, "got in tons of trouble." However, she would forget about them in later years.
Embria used to beg Relc to give her spear lessons.[5]
Eventually, she would leave Liscor to join its mercenary army. She proved to be talented, managing to kill her first Wyvern at the age of eighteen. Embria rose up the ranks until she became a [Wing Commander], only a few ranks below [General]. She would return to Liscor occasionally, and be involved in certain incidents with Relc that would cause them to be collectively blacklisted in every inn.
Chronology[edit | edit source]
Volume 5[edit | edit source]
Embria along with a single company of a hundred and twenty odd Drakes return to Liscor. Wishing to test the ability of the watchmen of Liscor, they approached slow and steadily, waiting to see how long it it would take for them to notice and sound an alarm. When they get close enough, the company notices the Antinium guarding the walls and wrongfully assume that they have seized the city.
The company assaults the city, and the alarm is quickly raised. Its due to the fast reaction of Olesm and Zevara that they are able to quickly subdue the fight before any Antinium casualties. Afterwards, Zevara and Embria discuss the recent changes and happenings of the city, leading to a heated argument about keeping the Antinium on the walls.
Later, during the parade celebrating the survival of the city and the welcoming the return of Liscor's army, few applauded. It is during this that Embria has her first interaction with the Innkeeper of Liscor, overhearing Erin call her and the army "jerks".
Relc convinces Embria to attend the party at Erin's inn, despite her hatred of Goblins and Antinium. She declines the cake as it has Goblin themed frosting. She is shocked to see Ilvriss attend the party, and is further shocked by the casual relationship between Ilvriss and Erin. Embria later returns Relc's magic spear and makes another attempt to have him reenlist into the Army, offering his old position back. Relc declines. After another heated argument involving Goblins, Embria returns to Liscor in a huff.
