Chapter 9.21

Colthei Lacment, or Colth for short, is a Named-rank Adventurer in Izril. He is famous for being the world's greatest [Supporter].

Appearance[edit | edit source]

He has a rare[1] brownish-green hair, pale violet eyes, and despite being in his early thirties he looked younger than he is, like five years younger.[2]

His adventuring gear is mithril chainmail over leather armor and carries a diverse variety of gear on his belt to be properly prepared,[1] making him look like some kind of wandering [Peddler].[2]

Personality[edit | edit source]

His is extremely friendly and makes it his duty to know any adventurer he can.[1] Despite his age, he acts much younger than his peers. He can work himself into a group and take up what they are doing with natural talent. However, Colth has a hidden dark side, which often manifests as a sinister smile. He constantly lives with the fear that he is living a lie, stemming from his time as a [Slave] under Yazdil Achakhei, who used illusions and magic to give Colth false memories.[3]

Whenever he works with someone, he has a habit of calling them "Boss," even if they are lower in rank. Whenever he enters a city, he learns from local experts.[4]

Background[edit | edit source]

Colth was a Silver-ranked adventurer when he teamed up with Beatist's Brawlers to take on an alpha pack of Cericel. All of the members of the team were killed in the first few minutes of the enouter, but he single-handedly defeated most of the pack. He was elevated to Named-rank status on that day.[5]

A few years ago, in Chandrar, Colth killed a [Slaver] in self-defense, and unknowingly violated Roshal's laws. He was bought by Emir Yazdil, and served six years as his [Slave]. He was sent to Rhir to infiltrate both the Blighted Kingdom and the Demon Kingdom; while he succeeded in the former, he encountered the three remaining Deathless. They undid Yazdil's spells and removed his [Slave] class, thus freeing him.[3]

Colth was involved with three women - twice before Chandrar, and once afterwards - or at least tried to. Each time, he used his Skills to help them out, but they all became big-headed on their newfound success and finding a new fiancé or cheated on him. However, rumors would spread of him being divorced three times.

  • He can currently imitate three people effectively with [Imitation of Might]. The two known are Jaganismet and Iertalinam.[8]

Quotes[edit | edit source]

  • (To Valeterisa) “Valley, when did you get in? It’s like a complete reunion, now. How in the name of anything did Larra get you?”
  • (To Mihaela, Eld, Viecel, Deni) “I heard she hit Level 40+. What a monster. It took Larra decades to get to her level.”
  • (To Pisces) “It does not define us. Any more than chains or scars.”
  • (To Tekshia) “Right to the next level or the end, Guildmistress. I am a Named-rank adventurer. I don’t let that kind of threat live.”
  • (To everyone) “This is all Deni’s fault. I’ll fucking kill him. He can’t end one damn nemesis? I heard he went to this bastard’s wedding!
