The Heartflame Boots, also known as the Penumbral Flamewalkers, are a Relic-class Artifact, and one of the Drake's national treasures. They are a part of the Heartflame Set.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Background[edit | edit source]
The Heartflame Boots were made by the Drakes as a part of the Heartflame Set, to be worn by their heroes.
At some point, without anyone knowing, Zelkyr stole the Heartflame Boots from his own people, and equipped them onto a Duelist Golem to ensure that no one would be able to pass his test to rise to the upper floors of Wistram Academy.[1]
Chronology[edit | edit source]
While Teriarch's simulacrum, Eldavin, was holding down all 5 of Zelkyr's mighty Golems to free Cognita from her enslavement, a secretive 6th Golem made a surprise attack on Eldavin. After surviving the attack, Eldavin noted in rage that the new Golem, a Duelist Golem, is equipped with the Heartflame Boots at its feet, which proved to Eldavin that Zelkyr had never intended for [Mages] to pass his test.[1]
Enchantments[edit | edit source]
Flame Emission / Enhanced Leap: The boots are capable of emitting a jet of flames to propel the wearer so that they can leap longer and higher distances than normal.[1]
Size Adjustment: While it is not confirmed if the boots can adjust to perfectly fit the wearer, since the Heartflame Breastplate had this enchantment it is possible that the boots can as well.[2]
Spells: The boots confer a [Speed] and [Freedom of Movement] enchantment.[3]
