Hesheit, also known as Eir Kelp Island, is an island near The Last Tide.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Despite being a tiny settlement only periodically visited by [Merchants], it nevertheless supplies nearly forty percent of Eir Gel demand, given the flourishing Eir Kelp underneath the island. The Dullahan inhabitants collect it by leaving their heads up on the rocks while their bodies dive down indefinitely, their armor protecting them from the Eir Kelp's poisoned thorns. But despite the high demand for Eir Gel, the islanders are poor due to having no choice but to sell it for cheap.[1]

Layout[edit | edit source]

The island, consisting of sand, dirt, and stones, was a small hill continuously eroded by the tides. Taxus had constructed his hut near the top on the southeast side, which required walking across rocky cliffs and slopes to reach the shore a hundred feet below. The other inhabitants had built their houses just as high, but they occupied the top of the hill and the other side of the island.[1]

Structures[edit | edit source]

Taxus' hut[edit | edit source]

The dwelling measures fifteen paces in diameter and is crafted from driftwood, salvaged fragments of scrap metal, and sometimes even leaves that were nailed or glued together. A broad beam in the center of the room supported the roof, which was made from the midsection of a ship's mast, and a few dried barnacles still clinging to the salt-flecked wood.[1]

Resources[edit | edit source]

There are no mineral resources on the island. It has a scarce terrestrial life but a rich underwater habitat.[1]

Known Inhabitants[edit | edit source]

Hesheit has a population of around 60 Dullahans, a Dwarf, a Human, and a Half-Dullahan.[1]
