Interlude – Bird is the 55th chapter of Volume 5, and the 7th chapter of Book 9, Tears of Liscor.
tl;dr
Synopsis
At Erin’s inn Bird and Bevussa discuss birds. As she gets to know Bird, and recognises he is not entirely unlike a child, she becomes amenable to the trade Bird is proposing: the bunch of goose feathers, taken from his pillows, for a single of her feathers. Of particular note is that Bevussa is able convince Bird that she isn’t, in fact, a bird, and Garuda in general aren’t either. She points out that were she a bird, she’d eat ants, and Bird does, despite his insistence on being Antinium, looks quite like an ant.
