Rémi is an Earther from Canada, that was teleported to Innworld. He is a [Journalist], covering stories in Chandrar under the pseudonym Rémi Canada.

Appearance

Rémi has tanned skin from living in Chandrar, though it is apparent that he is not native to the continent. He has grey-violet eyes, thanks to his Skill [Eyes of Personality], and his hair is light green. He has bite marks on his face from a zombie attack during the Winter Solstice.

Personality

As a [Journalist], Rémi is driven to find a newsworthy story and to reveal the unbiased truth behind certain matters. Rémi is persistent when it comes to pursuing a story, shown by his willingness to remain in an active warzone to report coverage on the war against Tiqr, and spending weeks tracking down Nsiia Oliphant and Ksmvr in the middle of the desert. Despite multiple assassination attempts, he is unafraid to report the truth no matter the public opinion, and is determined to make the news more than a propaganda tool. He is concerned with journalistic ethics and standards, having decided to forgo using truth spells in his news organization in favor of eyewitness accounts. However, he can be somewhat careless at times, such as when he tried introducing Quidditch to the world, which resulted in the death of a [Carpet Rider].

Background

A resident from Canada, Rémi was transported to Chandrar with eighteen other people from one of Earth's airports. After wandering the desert, the group reached A'ctelios Salash. Fifteen of Rémi's companions entered, while Rémi and two others chose to leave the place as soon as possible.

Chronology

Volume 6:

During the Tiqr conflict, Rémi reported the true end of the Laughing Brigade shortly before Tiqr's fall.

He was hiding among the forces of Magus-Crafter Femithain during that campaign.

Volume 7:

Rémi later appeared in Levrhine to broadcast both sides of the war between Belchan and Reim. He was assisted by a female Garuda in his journalistic endeavors there. He even provided the footage that Wistram provided to the world via commentary from Noass and Sir Relz, and was the one who dubbed King Raelt as the ‘King of Duels’ at the end.

He proposed the idea of establishing a new newspaper to some influential people in Chandrar, in order to diversify the reported news from Izril's and Wistram's bias.

Volume 8:

Several weeks after Ksmvr set Nsiia Oliphant free from her imprisonment in Illivere , Rémi tracked them down and began following them with the goal of showing the world Antinium were more than mindless insects. With a modified scrying device, he recorded a series of documentaries about Ksmvr, which was highly successful worldwide.
