First Appearance

Chapter 8.05 I

Tesy is an infamous Drake [Magical Painter] who paints street artwork that showcases the corruption of Drake society under the alias "Sellme.'

Appearance[edit | edit source]

He has pale white scales which he often covers up with different paint colors.[2]

Personality[edit | edit source]

Anti-government and anti-Watch, Tesy is a talented artist who paints artwork that points out the flaws in Drake society. His is quick to anger and is just as fast with insults. He is aggressive against those he considers guilty or complicit in perpetuating injustice and discrimination. His single-minded pursuit of social justice often blinds him to the real-world consequences. In Cellidel, his paintings addressing political corruption and discrimination resulted in large-scale riots and Watch violence against citizens. Similarly after destroying several priceless artworks from Salazsar in an act of political activism against the rich, he ended up being hunted down by a group of assassins.[3] Tesy can become very defensive when flaws in his reasoning is pointed out.[4] Generally, he prefers to avoid direct conflict and will run away from a fight.[5]

  • To Relc:
    • Well, you’ve got an answer for everything, don’t you? This is why Cellidel has problems, Relc! This is why Sellme’s here!
    • “It wasn’t pointless. Stop beating yourself up. Here. I brought some more Prelon chips.”
    • “You’re a good [Guard], Relc. But a few good [Guards] don’t cure the rot. It’s in the Watch; you’re the one who doesn’t fit in.”
    • “Every time I think you’re on our side, you do this, Relc. It’s not about compromising! It’s about bringing down evil people! That’s why Sellme does what he does! You can stop me, but you can’t stop Sellme or everyone who sees what he does.”
    • You’ve ruined everything, Relc! You’re not saving this city! I liked you! Why couldn’t you help?”
    • “You think I’m nothing? I’m Sellme!
  • (To Vetn) “Yes! No! We were fighting the boots! But this one Senior Guardsman took all of us out! All of the free fighters! And he knows what I look like!
  • (To Mrsha) “Oh, this one? This is of a Senior Guardsman. I thought he was a friend, an ally, even, but…he’s still against us. Bastard ran me out of that city. I hope he trips on his stupid spear, the—”
  • (To Vetn) “Don’t be stingy, Vetn. Mri’s never been here. Neither have I! Do it for us—come on. Pwease?
