Order of Haegris

From The Wandering Inn Wiki

The Order of Haegris, also known as Haggle Knights, is a mercantile [Knight] order in Terandria.[1]

Overview[edit | edit source]

The order was founded by a [Merchant]-[Knight] to buy valuables, be it windmills, fields—and use the money for charity to defeat the ‘Monsters of Society’ like poverty and disease. They also go on charity ‘quests’ like going to slay a shortage of corn by bringing a wagon of corn. Thanks to their charity the order has saved thousands of lives each year.[1]

They know how to use words and social pressure to achieve their ends. They've been known to hire people to harangue hoarders day and night until they agree to sell their goods are reasonable prices.[2]

The order has deep funds and a large armory, possessing over a hundred thousand items. This lets them prepare for many different situations. When they requisition gear, a [Squire] rides out to them with the requested items.

Insignia[edit | edit source]

The insignia of the order consist of a single stack of gold coins on a balanced scale.[1]

Equipment[edit | edit source]

Haegris [Knights] wear a strangely grey, battered, plain armor that looks quite well-made, but doesn’t have the coats of paint like other [Knight]’s gear, as they don’t like spending money on paint.[1]

They have a tiny chest of holding on their horses as regular equipment. They carry a lot of gear in general, consisting of things they might need, like gold, months-worth of food, various potions, and so on. Because of this, members sometimes get attacked to steal from them.[3]

Chronology[edit | edit source]

The Order of Haegris was among the other Knighthood Orders that formed the Terandrian Crusade to go to Chandrar and unite with the Kingdom of Medain and Claiven Earth, so as to battle the Undead forces of Khelt.[4] Like everyone else they were rendered unable to advance, and even pushed back, when King Fetohep sent the Revenants, Vizir Hecrelunn, Salui, and all 20 of Serept’s half-Giants Revenants, to battle them all.[5][6]
