The Reinhart Family are one of the Five Families of Izril. Their current head is Magnolia Reinhart.

Overview[edit | edit source]

The Reinhart family are one of the Five Families that came from Terandriafleeing from Terandria, to be exact[1] and are among the first Humans to ever settle on Izril. Unlike the other four families who have various scions with degrees of power, the whole Reinhart family is ruled by Lady Magnolia Reinhart.[2] Their sigil consist of twisting vines and a single flower, with the vines sometimes looked like snakes. More ornate versions of the sigil included falling petals.[3]

The Reinhart family has a reputation of being "snakes" and underhanded in their politics and are well-known for relying on tricks, assassination, and poison. While they are loyal to each other, they do not get along.[4] With the exception of their matriarch, the Reinhart members do not engage in politics and remain secluded in the family mansion.

History[edit | edit source]

The House was founded by Aleieta Reinhart, using the [Garden of Sanctuary] and the [Pavilion of Secrets].[5]

Regis Reinhart, who died 3800 years ago,[1] is active as a ghost, thanks to a [Necromancer] and safeguards the family treasury. However, he is reluctant to allow the usage of the artifacts and other magical items within the vaults and takes from each successive generation of Reinharts, which is the reason that he is regarded as the "family curse".[4] At some point, he founded the Circle of Thorns.

Eight hundred to one thousand years ago, Salienn Reinhart was another infamous Reinhart who lived for three centuries, and reportedly drank the blood of her enemies.[4] Suvelta Reinhart was a Vampire with class levels, who fought Named Adventurers with her vampiric nature alone. She was brought down by the Circle of Thorns and tortured for sixteen days before exposing her to sunlight.[6]

Six hundred years ago, one of the Reinhart family was executed in Pallass after being captured in a battle. Afterwards. no Reinhart has set foot in the city until Magnolia Reinhart.[7]

About two hundred years ago, the Reinhart and the El Family feuded against Oteslia over a dispute regarding trade from Chandrar. In the battle that happened in the Human lands, General Ironscales lost her life.[8]

Relatively recent generations of the Reinhart Family have fought against the Circle of Thorns. Three generations ago, Magnolia's great-grandmother fought them[9] and two generations ago her grandmother[1] also attempted to defeat the Circle. Both were met with mixed success at best.

During the First Antinium War, a sixteen-year old Magnolia Reinhart forcibly took control of the Reinhart family from her parents. Using her Skill [The Bindings of House Reinhart], she pacified all the Reinhart members, making them compliant, while also reined in the Assassin’s Guild.[4]

Magnolia's Estate[edit | edit source]

While the main Reinhart house is located in First Landing, Magnolia also has her own estate in Invrisil.

A giant raincloud floats around her house, enchanted to rain on the parts that need watering. Besides its function as a lawn sprinkler, it also serves as a guard, capable of firing [Chain Lightning], a Tier 4 spell,[10] at intruders.[11]

Her house is maintained by numerous [Servants] and [Maids], many of whom are former mages and warriors, allowing Magnolia to use them not just for housework but also for battle.[12]

Strength[edit | edit source]

Currently, the Reinharts are the most powerful of the Five Families. They are exceedingly wealthy, as can be seen by Lady Magnolia's lavish lifestyle and magical artifacts, such that they can seriously consider hiring one of the the Four Companies of Baleros and can hire Couriers daily with ease. The Reinharts also have many connections that if they declared war, half a dozen cities would march their armies at their command,[2] and many people are loyal to them. However, their power has waned over millennia, compared to the old days when "Reinharts could march behind Earth Elementals and Golems.[13]

As one of the most powerful nobles in Izril, Magnolia is able to call upon two thousand individuals with combat-classes above Level 20, with over six hundred of that number possessing levels above 30. They also have access to six Named Adventurers, eight Gold-rank teams, at least three hundred and fifty irregular units all at their disposal.[14]
