Chapter 6.09 is the 10th chapter of Volume 6 and Book 10, The Wind Runner.

Synopsis[edit | edit source]
Duo chapter between Erin and Numbtongue. It starts off with Erin telling the others over breakfast, same day as the previous chapter, that she planned on going to Pallass. No one really cares, wishing her good luck. She enters the city, but is stopped by Kel who asks her for her identification and why she wasn’t written on the approved guest list. Erin is forced to wait until Watch Captain Venim vouches her identity. Erin tells them she’s there to sightsee and might bring Lyonette, Mrsha and… a goblin. This causes Venim to freeze up and tell her that any goblins that enter Pallass are executed. Though he tries to be kind after she defended Liscor from humans and goblins in v5, Erin tells them that ‘it’s not over yet!’ And walks off. The first she meets is the Dullahan Lorent and is surprised when he takes his head off. She runs away, shell shocked. She heads down one floor, to the sixth, where people recognize her. She has a meltdown and starts crying, only to be found by Rufelt. Next, Numbtongue wanders off to find a nice place to mine. He digests the information and memory of Pyrite, finding a monster cave of stone mites. Using Pyrites memories, he clicks until they stop bothering him and begin looking for something to dig with the help of the mana stone. Turn back to Erin, as Rufelt offers her a nali stick. Soon, Lasica finds them with a scowl before they become tour guides and shows her around. She meets Maughin on the 9th floor and Pelt very briefly, and later is introduced to Xif who resides on the ninth floor as well. As they’re headed to Rufelt and Lascia’s bar, they meet Grimalkin with his apprentices. The chapter ends with Erin being offered food and drinks, and growing happier. But she stops when she’s called a rookie.
