Diomedes is a Cyclops and a General in the Forgotten Wing Company.
Appearance edit edit source
He is 31 feet tall, big enough to part trees, when he walks through them, and his—one—eye occupies most of his face. The iris of the eye looks pure and has a sandstone colour and the sclera is black. When in battle he wears armour and carries a greataxe as his weapon of choice.[1]
Personality edit edit source
Background edit edit source
Diomedes once swam to Chandrar and met the King of Destruction. However, he refused to become his vassal, which angered the Nomads of the Sky. They chased him off of the continent with a broken arm.
Before he joined the Forgotten Wing Company, he was fighting Terandrians.[2]
Chronology edit edit source
Volume 8 edit edit source
Diomedes held off a Jungle Tails army when they started their comeback war with the Forgotten Wing Company.[1]
Powers and Abilities edit edit source
Diomedes has the strength expected of a being of his size, magnified by his greataxe; large enough to split a Lamia lengthwise and leave room for more.
Beyond his monstrous strength, he has his eye; a Cyclops' eye, and they are greater in eye magic than Gazers and Medusa. His iris, pupil and eye may move independently of each other. Among the powers his eye has displayed are:
- Farsight: Diomedes can look in the eye someone who is viewing him through a telescope.
- Magic Suppression: Diomedes is implied to be able to block scrying spells with his eye.
- Light Projection: Diomedes can cause his eye to glow, twinkle, and shine a beam of light like a spotlight.
Trivia edit edit source
- He has oddly flat teeth; leading Daly to believe he is herbivorous, or at least, more so than Humans.
Quotes edit edit source
"Long has it been since anyone tried to stare me down. So the Titan's [Innkeeper] is enough to rouse me from my long duty watching Gazers. Where Jungle Tails itself would not move me, for romance, I walk."
