Lidera is a pirate captain of the Bloodtear Pirates, and a fromer Luminary of the Drowned People.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Lidera is an elderly drowned woman. Her drownwed half is that of a transluscent, luminescent jellyfish.[1]

Lidera was a Drowned City's Luminary. She used to be so bright in her youth that she put put Pheislant’s lighthouses to shame.
At the request of other nations, she led the Luminaries to awoke Old Hungry, the largest Kraken in the world, to unleash upon the Antinium fleet. This act used up the last of her power and she retired. Later, Solwes, a prospective Luminary, asked her to take him away to avoid a similar fate. She did so and had a bounty placed on her by the Drowned Cities for it, which rose every year. She joined the Bloodtear Pirates, who welcomed her where no one else would. She became a ship captain of the 2nd Armada, with Solwes as her First Mate.[2]
Chronology[edit | edit source]
Lidera and her crew were among the pirates attacking the Terandrian fleet to steal their fates. On the final day of the assault, she used a fate-stealing Skill on Solwes, taking away his own light powers and reigniting her own. With it, she destroyed Wistram's weather spell, allowing the Bloodtear's Tide Skill to take effect, and fired at the academy when they retaliated.[2] For an entire day and night, she used her powers to counter intercontinental spells from the sky and darkness spells from the Shadewards meant to kill her and the pirates, protecting them. She fired on the Kraken driven there by Belavierr, drawing its attention and blinding it. It grabbed her, but she shined so brightly as to sear its flesh and her own organs. She tore a hole through the Kraken and died from the backlash of her powers.[3][4]

Lidera is incredibly lunimous. The light powers let her blind others, summon sea monsters like Krakens, and cave in a Drowned ship's shield. She can control light to such an extent that she can dissipate light-based spells, and she can shoot beams of light that can scorch targets and destroy spells.[2]
